  • 200k grit diamond polish (0.1 microns)
G: No polish, just broken in
H: Diamond polish on bottom housing rails
    Conclusion:
Yes, there is an audible difference in the scratch between the two switches. However, it is near impossible for me to feel a difference, mostly because of mx browns' light-tactile nature. The feel is certainly noticable on linear switches like mx blacks. Generally with polish, the more actuations the bigger of a gap between it and normal break in.

I love the scratchiness of the brown, I don't know why

Diamond polished, broken-in, and still scratchy AF. Why bother then? Scratch is a feature

Of course, break-in is mostly pointless for under 3 million. Browns don't need break-in at all imo. Some people like mx blacks to be smooth, while others like the scratch. I don't mind the sound of the scratch but since scratch is from friction, and friction means a counteracting force, scratchy switches are more 'sluggish' or 'heavy' compared to smooth ones.
