This is the worst judgement in human history. I am Acholi from Gulu. I myself I'm a victim of the LRA pains and have survived abduction severally and I lost my grandpa and uncle in the hands of the LRA as well as my mother's rib injury from a kick with boots to her ribs infront of us because she refused to report where our father was, I was shot at several bullets as we fled home at 6am morning attack.All the stories aside too many, maybe if I was abducted I would be In the same place Ongwen is today. He was abducted a child and brainwashed and forced into all these actions. Everything we do today is based on how we were brought up, mental and psychological upbringing influences our reasoning and decision making. If u were raised to believe dog meat is sweet, u will enjoy it with no problem and if u are told it's bad, if u eat it by mistake, u will even throw up.😢😢😢 Poor man has suffered pains only we actually know the real stories and experienced a part of it know and understand 😢. May he serve in peace and find cure and peace and restore his mental fitness.

There is something in perpetrators that makes them desire having power over others, and that has nothing to do with upbringing. However, there is also a kind of unholy alliance between religion, power and crime that justifies this kind of behavior - see ISIS and djihad, or forced Christian conversion, for example.

Very powerful documentary. I'm glad that he was charged and sentenced, you could say a fair sentence. I hope the victims are able to heal and live in peace now. Of course the other perpetrators should also be brought to justice.
Ongwen got justice despite being a victim of the crime he was brought into a such a young age. However, he can't be exculpated for the crimes because he committed them and he admitted that he did. Facts admitted need no further prove. It is a sad story but it was the right decision.
