Thanks to Arts Council England, we have produced our first at-a-glance documentary video giving an overview of our festival events and participation from the 2023 festival.
Herne Bay Jazz Festival CIC produces a non-profit, yearly event, bringing the best of UK talent to venues across Herne Bay, Kent. Our seaside provides the backdrop for hours of top-level jazz performance for our local community and visitors; an opportunity to enjoy and explore this music without the usual expense. Since 2017, we have celebrated the best of live jazz and swing music on an annual basis with headliners including some of the top names in the industry.
Our 2023 Non-Profit Festival included:
23+ hours live performance over two days, from famous headliners to talented local youth in Wimereux Town Square (6 hours), Herne Bay Pier Stage (8 hours) and four smaller venues (9+ hours) including Beach Creative, The Pier Ceylon, The Vibe, and Pettman House
- A ‘Try Something New’ improvisation and jazz rhythms workshop for everyone at our local Over 60s club (capacity 100) as well as a children’s ‘Musical Discovery’ workshop in the open air (capacity 600).
-a livestream of our Pier Stage shows, 200m out in the North Sea (!) produced by CPL Films, providing free access to culture for 1400 people on this final festival day, plus over 25,000 views post-event, showcasing this music and our beautiful seaside town
