Vintage at Vibe with Kai's Kats - 1940s & '50s Dress Up and Dance
For the first time at Herne Bay Jazz, we invite you to our Vintage Dress Up and Dance Night!
With Canterbury Jive’s favourite DJ Reverend Boogie and London-based six-piece vintage swing and jive band Kai’s Kats.

Come join vintage swing super-felines Kai's Kats for "London's coolest hepcat hangout" (The Stage) on Saturday, August 19th as part of Herne Bay Jazz and Swing Festival. Fronted by powerhouse singer Kai Hoffman with arrangements by Simon ‘Fat Kat’ Whiteside, Kai's Kats repertoire includes the hippest jive tunes of the 1940s and '50s as well as their own vintage-inspired hits. Guaranteed to get you tapping your toes and moving your feet!
With an eight-year residency at Ronnie Scott’s - awarded Critic’s Choice by Time Out London - six-piece band Kai’s Kats have performed at the 100 Club, Jive Party at the Rivoli, Twinwood Festival, Retrofestival, Greenwich Dance and Hepcats Holiday. “[Kai] is the whole package from head to toe” - Jazzwise Magazine
Andrew Hall or " DJ Reverend Boogie" is a Retro DJ who specialises in 1930's to 50's music. As a dance instructor, Andrew holds regular weekly classes at the Southcliff Hotel in Folkestone and the Horsebridge Centre in Whitstable.
Originally from the USA, Kai Hoffman is a sought-after performer at festivals and venues across London including the Elgar Room of the Royal Albert Hall, the London Jazz Festival, City of London Festival, Southbank Centre, 606 Club, the Hideaway Jazz Club and Ronnie Scott’s Club.
