New Years Day Classic Car Run 2018 - Sturminster Newton, Dorset

Despite a rainy start to the day, plenty of vintage and classic vehicle owners turned out for the 23rd annual new years day run, starting out from Sturminster Newton in Dorset. This video was filmed as the cars left the start so shows all the vehicles running on the day.
There was a great mix of cars, sprinkled in with some motor bikes, a few commercials and military vehicles and a single tractor. Not too many vehicles to excite Ford enthusiasts, but we did have an Anglia 105E, Granada Mk2, Fiesta Mk3, Escort Mk1 and Mk2, a Fordson Dexta tractor and a WW1 liveried Model T.

I rather like the idea of a winter car show. What a refreshing change. Out here in California, all the car shows are between May & September, when it’s 30-40°C, and the sun will bake you red. The heat gets old.

It’s so nice to see the old classics out running, but why do the ‘ Posers ‘ in their Mercedes and even a brand new McClaren, have to join in, just for the ‘look at me’ factor?
