  • Every time i buy an abandoned storage unit i am looking for the trifecta: guns, gold and silver and guitars. Usually you don't find all 3. This time i found all 3 and lots of each. Lots of jewelry and coins, indian artifacts, ww1 and ww2 memorabilia including my best find ever in a storage unit. I found some rare guns including a shoulder stock 1911, a ww2 marked german Walther PP, and a Smith & Wesson 1917. I also found lots of musical equipment, guitars, a piano, amplifiers and mixing gear, I even found a boat. This storage unit was purchased at auction and produced a healthy return!

Not a bong, it's a wine carafe; the hole in the side is to hold ice cubes, so that the wine can be cooled without diluting it when the ice melts.

I was at a flea market about 3 years ago, and a guy was there selling storage locker stuff. There were albums of pictures of a family with each person named and all the kids parties and school activities. and family trips out west, spanning about 20 years. Even a baby in a coffin. At the end of the day he just tossed them all into the dumpster. I kept thinking about who these people were, and knew that they wouldn't voluntarily just abandon those things. He could have asked the storage people to call them and they could pick them up, but he didn't care, but things happen and sometimes people just can't pay the storage fees. I took them all out of the dumpster and by bit and piece checking the names, and any clues, I have located the original owners, and will surprise them soon to give it all back. There were photos of grandpas and grandmas that may not still be alive, and weddings too. Sometimes the memories are worth more than money.

I was thinking the same as I was watching this. Someone really did invest a lot in these things and if I were the one finding stuff like these I would call the owners and offer to sell the stuff back to them at a slight profit. Its sad to think that some of these stuff are family heirlooms, worth more in memory than in money!

My brother became the proud 2nd owner of a 1911 model t Ford. It was stored in the family barn of the owners grandson, who took orders from his dad in fall of '38. Every year in the fall he'd put a few squirts in each cylinder and turn it over. Bro bought it about 20 years ago. He drove it home!!!

I feel bad for whoever left this stuff here. It's heirloom stuff, and organized nicely, not dumped in there like a loser would do. You can tell they were quality people.

My sister and I spent a few years cleaning out our dad's house because there were hidden gems everywhere. It was an off-and-on effort, if we had concentrated time we could have knocked it down in a few months, but that's not life sometimes. At times I thought about renting out some storage lockers so we could sell the house and go through stuff later, but I was so fearful of something going wrong with that and having heirlooms, quality antiques, various collections, etc., selling in some storage locker sale for $50 to some knucklehead. Ultimately it was just easier to go through stuff at the house and deal with it there. It was like a big storage locker that we already owned.

My friend and co-worker just retired at 55, after working as a defense contractor for 30 years and saving/investing since he was 25 after getting a Finance degree. I am 56 and have a couple more years to go before I can join him in N.C. and buy my bass boat and fish until I can't cast anymore. I always get sad watching the storage wars shows, cause people probably died and either no one knew they had a storage unit or they died alone......Hope these storage unit items get the respect they deserve.

Good unit. I worked for a guy that bought storage units for five years. My job was to empty out the units. He always said one out of ten paid for the ten. I also went to the dumps two to three times a week. Only once have a seen a better unit than yours. I have found only one that equals yours. Have found Harley's and things. When you do this you need a outlet for the furniture, tools, houeshold and such. He had a large thrift store.

The Ruger Mark 1 is worth a minimum of $500. Most of your stone artifacts at a quick glance are anywhere from a couple of bucks to a few hundred. I feel bad for the person that lost this unit. But I feel good about the guy who bought it! First time I've seen any of your videos, I can't help but think you will keep the very special items for yourself? Or until you find the right buyer that will treasure a particular item as it should be. But! I might be wrong and top dollar takes all! However you choose to liquidate your jackpot unit? CONGRATULATIONS!! This unit definitely fuels storage unit auction folklore!
