DIY Table Saw That Makes Sense

  • Not everyone has space or means for a full-size table saw. Here I will show how I used only a circular saw and a drill to make a table saw. What makes this different from some other versions out there is that you don't have to modify the circular saw in any way. This will also go from a table saw to a circular saw and back to a table saw in just a couple of minutes. In future videos, I will be using this to make some great projects to show that a small budget can still make great things.

    This is the best design of a diy table saw I've seen on youtube.

    Nice build! This could be really useful to those that don’t have access to a table saw.

    Great video Jared! I love the tip of using the foam board as a base for cutting sheet goods.

      Not sure if anyone gives a damn but if you're stoned like me during the covid times then you can watch pretty much all the latest series on Instaflixxer. Have been watching with my girlfriend for the last couple of months =)

    The fence is the most critical part of a table saw, please make a video on the fence and how you make it both 90 degree from the front edge of the saw and perfectly parallel to the saw blade

      Thanks for the comment VADOCO2. I totally agree with you about the value of the fence. i have a video in the works to explain how to address the fence.

    Without the retractable safety guard over the blade this build is a disaster waiting to happen !!!😮

    Nice project and simpler than other methods I have seen. I liked specially the idea to use gravity to hold the tool in place. Does this table allows to tilt the blade?

    Plexiglas thickness reduces the cutting depth of wood. What is the reason for adding it ? Many good ideas are in your design.

      I wondered just the same. What was the reason you added the plexiglass and decreased the potential cutting depth?

      Plexi glass is there for zero space clearance. So smaller cutoffs don't fall through the gap and into the blade.

    Where can I buy the foam?

    So, most circular saws have the safety switch that you press and then the trigger to begin cutting. How did you get around that?

    • @DIYMinded
      @DIYMinded  3 роки тому +2

      The saw I used did not have a safety switch. You could use a cable tie to hold that switch down.

    Nice job, one comment. Stop buying Phillips wood screws Buy square socket instead, much better to drive will not skip

      Thanks. And I totally agree with the phillips. I scored some 50# cases for $10 so I'm working through them.
