Glad you're having fun with the hobby😁 You not wrong about the 1/10 vs smaller price difference!. The Boom BRX109 that I want finally put a price on it. £658ish then motor/ESC etc, battery, controller etc and it added up costing more than what Dad paid for his 1:1 LR Series 3 109 hard top. Or my 1st Series 3 88 or two more Landies we bought back in the day😱 So I got inspired by you again and snagged a Deadbolt SCX24 that was on offer to make a 🐀rod crawler when I'm done with the FTX KB90 conversion. Till then I'm having fun with the Deadbolt24 It's not just the 110 vs 124 price difference I noticed. The fixings on the 24 are fiddly lil'buggers!😄
I have a couple pan cars you might be interested in . little older but everything is there . Have some rubber tires for them too . fun just to run like on road .
First, I am envious of your Texas sunburn. It's a right of Summer down there and yes it's hot and muggy, still better than a Wi. winter any day. Really miss Texas. I am confused. Why does everyone think that HPI is out of business? I just purchased a HPI Audi E-TRON on a RS chassis earlier this year. I'm a diehard Kyosho Optima fan. Chain, not belt. but I really not too impressed with the Fazer, I'd like to have some Kyosho muscle car bodies on some HPI chassis. 😆Frogs Those are great vintage buggies. I'm not an authority but the Frog ended up as the chassis for a number of other cars/trucks in the Tamiya line up I think. I know the original Frog even on old ni-cad paks and those horrible mechanical speed controllers and brushed motors could actually go up and down a pretty decent sized sand dune at Glamis about half a dozen times on a charge. Better at sunset or sunrise when it's cooler.
It was my first sunburn of the season, lol. Hpi shuttered and has been sold at least 2 time since the hayday. I consider it still gone as they dont make all the great wheels and tires and the OG Rs4 platform. All the newer on road cars are kind of the generic losi/vaterra/associated thats all plastic. I wasnt really impressed with the fazer either, fits the genre listed above in my opinion. Never was a frog person, lol, I fell hard for the SRB's and have been sucked into that style forever.
I can’t believe people in the RC community DON’T know who you are. Especially other UA-camrs. Mark Santa Maria had you on his video at that swap meet and didn’t even recognize you.
Fun video, thank you. Cool to see you going out and you know, "be social and such" and getting the word out for the rc hobby and your channel. Well done Sir, great idea! Cheers :)
I'm with that guy from the Rod Shop, I HATE holes in the body, it ruins them imo. 👍👍
