      But it's iconic.
It's like Neil Armstrong's "One small step...". What we heard isn't exactly what he planned. It's better.
Same with this. Different words could have been more precise, but I don't think they would have resonated as much. 😘

Bob Seger is a master storyteller, and one of the very best in rock n roll history..From Against The Wind and Night Moves, to Like A Rock and Roll Me Away, just to name a few....He immaculately, and with great care, sets the table for the listener...All that's left for us to do is enjoy the feast....

Being from Michigan I grew up with Bob Seger. Timeless, amazing storyteller. Quick story- as young men, he and Glenn Frey (Eagles) were at a club watching a band. Glenn thought they were good. Bob said they'd never make it. Glenn asked why. Bob said "they don't write their own songs". This stuck with Glenn.

How he never is invited to parties, and sleep overs etc. Bob's lyrics in this song, will bring a tear to your eye. We all knew, or know someone like this. The guy in school that everyone avoided because he wasn't one of the cool kids. People called them retarded etc. Great song.

I was in my dads camper when I first heard this song. I was getting ready to exit and this song came on over the radio. The passion and sincerity of it stopped me dead in my tracks and I had to hear it. I remember it like it was yesterday.... but it was over 40 years ago. Same thing with "like a Rock". These songs go in deep the first time you hear them. Thats good music.

A lesser known song you might enjoy is Sunspot Baby. Try that one. Glad you have discovered Bob, he is awesome, it is nice to watch you enjoying his work.

Looking back and get out of Denver are two of his most underrated songs.

Outstanding. Fire Lake and No Man's Land off the Against The Wind album were also fantastic. Also you may like the Travelling Man/Beautiful Loser set from the Live Bullet album. These songs are connected and should be played together. Great great songs. His vocals are incredible.

Such a great song. Thanks for your appreciation of this wonderful artist. “Still the Same” is another one worth checking out. I saw him live twice in the 80’s. Great shows. Rock on....

Found out about you reacting to Bob Seger from a local radio station here in Michigan! Good job, love seeing people listen to Bob. His music is amazing! I also see that you're a big fan of Elvis and I would like to make a suggestion of "What Now My Love" from Aloha From Hawaii

By my count you've done: Mainstreet, Turn the Page, Shakedown, Old Time Rock and Roll, Night Moves, Hollywood Nights, Like a Rock, Roll Me Away, Against the Wind.
    To do:
    Katmandu (rockin')
    We've Got Tonight (heartbreaking)
You'll Accomp'ny Me (great driving song)
    Beautiful Loser (classic)
    Her Strut (kickin')
Feel Like a Number (rhythm & soul)
    Fire Down Below (nasty!)
    Travelin' Man (propulsive)
Shame On the Moon (biggest hit)
Nutbush City (great cover of Tina Turner)
    Come to Poppa (funky)
    Ramblin' Gamblin' Man (first hit)
Fire Lake (with help from The Eagles)
Get Out of Denver (ol' timey)
    Even Now (unmistakable)
Rock and Roll Never Forgets (tribute)
    Still the Same (observant)
    Horizontal Bop (infectious)
    American Storm (tense)
    Sunspot Baby (honkytonk)
    2+2 (60s protest)
Heartache Tonight - by the Eagles (cowritten Seger & Glen Frey)
Tryin' to Live My Life Without You (good cover)
Midnight Rider (cranked up Allman Bros cover)
    Chances Are (emotional duet)

Start with Ramblin Gamblin, Rosalie and Back in ‘72. Forget about Fire Lake , Against the Wind and We’ve Got Tonight. He’s got several dozens better than those 3. If you want a good Country song by Bob, it’s Shame on the Moon. Fire Lake might be the weakest song he’s ever released....and I’m a huge Seger fan.

When this song first came out, i was listening while driving around the country trying to find answers. My wife at the time had started having an affair with a co-worker and it about broke me. This great song kept me company while trying to figure out what now. Still one of my favorites and will always be.
