The reason why we love the things of the world so often is that we are not savoring enough of the diverse excellencies of God as expressed in Christ.

This is so true. Believe the devil and his lies, and you'll be blindly led down a path of darkness. But believe God and His promises, see the work that He's already done, trust Him for the work He is doing, and all will be well. He just wants dependence upon Him, as a Father.

My dear husband was also my carer, so his loss is doubly felt, But my only consolation is that he is no longer suffering and I know he is with the lord. I have sung this song since I was little in the Baptist church. I did not truly know the Lord as my personal Savior though until I was a young teenager. Ever since then I truly feel this song. Until I turned my eyes on Him going to church became only a ritual. Once I accepted Him I fully turned my eyes on Him. Love it!!
