As a person with no sense of smell for the past four years, this makes me feel a lot better about canning! Thank you!
You are so welcome!
Prayers sent.
Thanks for all the precious info, AGAIN!!!
God be close to your family and heal your hearts and help the coming journey. In Jesus name.
AMEN!!
Thank you for the great information!! 🙏
I got my USDA Book yesterday. Pat from Oregon coast
you are ready to roll now!😆👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
You, dear lady, are an EXCELLENT teacher. So many newbie and apprentice canners need all these basic videos.
This is a great video. The close ups were perfect. Another subject that flummoxes newbies is: FINGER TIGHTENING rings. It took me a while to get this right. Too tight what happens? Too loose what happens? How do you find the Goldie Locks spot? How does this play into siphoning?
Among a bajillion canning videos someone recommend turning the lid tighter without holding the jar in place. When the jar spins on the counter, that's it. That advice seemed to help me figure out how tight.
a very humble thank you!🤗❤️
great tip!
Thank you for all the small points that matter. Love your videos.
Praying for you and your family.
👍🤗💞. Thanks...that was a good question 👍
it was! definitely a great topic to talk about!
Because comments and replies helps with UA-cam I am doing so on multiple videos and comments. Love and hugs.

Wishing you a lot of strength my darling! ❤️ might God always be with you.
Awesome info for all, but especially "newbies ".🤗
thanks Sandi😁
It will be a rewarding moment to know you put the food in the container and to know the cleanliness , safely and sealing was all you. Thank you again for the lesson. 🌹
so happy you are here Karen! I appreciate you.
TY for showing the Tattlers.... I bought some to use when I run out of the remaining Ball lids I have. I was going to binge watch YT vids for this info, but now I know! Thanks so much!!!
You are so welcome! glad i could help! hahaha
@@TheKneadyHomesteader I've got one box left of Ball lids unless I get lucky and find more. Wish I lived where you could find Amish stores. And you've been a HUGE help to me over the last 6 months! I only started canning last summer and would have been so overwhelmed had it not been for you and a couple others on YT that calmly, methodically show the steps. C19 was enough motivation for me to overcome the fears but I love that you did this series for those still afraid to try. Sorry that one word got you shadow banned. Hope you'll be ready to move to Rumble if need be. Take care!
Thanks for showing the Tattler lids also, for comparison. And thanks for all you do! 💖
you are so welcome!😁
Wow I never realized about that button top, I checked mine and they were all sealed, thanks ma'am 👍
Thank you so much for clarifying this. Too new to know it, but glad I do now!
Glad it was helpful!
Thankyou!! I wish this video was available back in August 2020 when I started canning. Great info! When I first heard to pick up the jar by the sealed lid I was like I am not doing that but after trying to get a sealed jar open I realized how strong the seals were!!
Many healing prayers for you and your family 🙏🙏🌻🌻❤️
Great video!! Thank you for helping with all aspects of canning!!
absolutely, Katrina! Thanks for watching!!!
Great as always! ❤️❤️
thabks Libby🤗❤️
This was wonderful! Thank you!
thank you for watching😁
You are an awesome Lady!! You are greatly appreciated!! Many blessings to you always 😇
thank you, Mari. I appreciate you being here. ❤️
Another tip!! The sealed tattler gasket is flatter and kinda turns a pink color. Instead of a bright red.
Thank you for all these videos in the workshop. I already feel better prepared to go from water bath to pressure canning in the future because of your workshop.
I have your back, Donna!😁❤️
Is there a link for the workshop?
Some of the newer metal lids do not have buttons. They tend to have the sound of a drum(musical) versus a dull thud with a light tap of the spoon.
I always like to hold them by the lid edge to check also. If the seal isn't strong enough to withstand that then i don't want it on my shelf!
i am with you, Sis!
Yep i do the same!
Wow! What great information ℹ️☺️
thanks Catherine😁
You’ve saved me! My pot is slightly to shallow for my cans but it’s 99.99% covered in water , I had to make sure they were actually sealed thanks for your info!
So much helpful information. Im glad I was never told to tap the lid. I am still a newbie. I watch a lot of canning videos trying to separate good information from unsafe practices.
I always listen for the lid to pop and I count each pop then check lids
nice! that is a great way to do it!
Continuing to watch your playlist.
thank you!
Thanks for the tips
Great tips!
I cannot wait to watch tomorrow with all sorts! Already subbed! These videos are awesome. Some things I know, others I didnt and I learn!! Great job on teaching everyone!
THANK YOU! Video is now live!!!! I hope you find it helpful!

Thank you so much! This was very helpful!
I'm really enjoying this series. How about a bread revolution next???
yes! i am goi g to make a few simple videos and share my new obsession which is making baguettes! 😆👏🏻
@@TheKneadyHomesteader I need to go back and review the sourdough videos. My husband got me a 25 lb bag of rye. He said go big or go home, we got this, let's get to baking some rye breads. Bread baking is my new/old obsession it really helps me relieve stress.
Bless you and your family
So glad I stumbled onto you!
I am so glad too, Nancy! Thanks for leaving me a comment. :) So much love to you!
love canning advice
Great explanation! Thank you!
I finally tried the Taller lids on the video with the pineapple pepper jelly and the two I did worked out great 👍. I tried your advice so thanks 😊. Now I can do more!!!
oh i have to come watch!
What us the link for the pineapple pepper jelly?
Valuable info. Thank you for sharing. Processed my first hot pack hamburger today.....And it was successful. New presto canner on glass top stove. 😀
way to go Kelly!!!! 😁👏🏻❤️ It's empowering, right?
I have wanted to start pressure canning, but was told it could not be done on a glass top stove. So to make sure I understand, it is safe to use a Presto Canner on a glass top stove? Are there any special safety steps to do? What size Presto canner do I need to buy? Please help?
I really enjoy watching your videos and I'm learning so much. Thank you and God bless you.
Another great explanation Heather!
thanks Jo! How are you?🤗❤️
@@TheKneadyHomesteader 👍
Best explanation I have heard and seen
Thank you, that was a great help
As always, good advice! 🥰🙏🏻
Thank you, this was so helpful.👍☺️❤️
Oh i am so glad!!! You are most welcome 😁❤️
Yes Heather this was very helpful. I’m so nervous about using my tattler lids lol 🙄
they definitely have a learning curve, but i think you will like them!
Thank you for this advice - I purchased a bunch of tattler lids a while back after seeing you use them but I have been a little leery of trying them.... each new piece of info helps me get the nerve up to try.
they definitely have a learning curve but i love them!
@@TheKneadyHomesteader Thank you flattening that curve!
excellent info for us new-b's.. btw i made your cinn rolls the other day and they were fab.. and now they're gone,,, thanks girl. God bless.
yay! oh that made my night😁
Great information
Great information!!!! thanks!
thanks Lynda!
Hoping above all hopes that your recovery is going well and those babies of yours doing well too. ❣️blessings Heather
Thanks Heather, I am a Newby. I have had 4 pressure canning sessions and finally due to your channel, 1 water bath session. I have learned sooo much from you. I have wondered about the reusable lids, now I think I'm going to try them. God Bless You Sweetie.
way to go!😆👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you for the tip about lifting! I have some ball lids that have a clear button down. And some that just appear flat, but they hold the seal and there is no way to depress the middle!
I love you heather...blessings
Very helpful. Thank you! :)
Glad it was helpful!
I am new to the channel. I am looking forward to learn more about canning. 🙏💗🙏
Thank you!!

💋💋💋💋💋
Blessings!
excellent info...and u just answered one of my questions...i noticed that the new lids are not reusable and many times do have like spots with out rubber...thank you so much for ur teachings..
😁❤️
This is awesome information for new canners! I know this will be encouraging to them also!
thank you so much!🤗
❤️ my goal is to watch every canning video. I’m about 1/2 way there lol
Thank you
thank you!😁
Love and good thoughts from me to you
Just was looking in the USDA BOOK, it does show a picture of a spoon tapping on a jar, page 26. Crazy
....yeah a completely unnecessary trick when you can use better methods, in my opinion. just like i don't like stacking jars. why take the risk of messing with that seal. so placing jars on top of one another or smacking your lids with a spoon is just asking for trouble when you don't have to. 😆 but thats simply my opinion. 😆❤️
👀 yikes!
I have some tattler seals, but I haven’t tried them yet. How do you remove the seal when you are ready to use the contents in the jar? For regular seals, I use a church key/bottle opener.
check out my tattler playlist. i show how i open them. 😁
🙏
Another great one!!! Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom with us. QUESTION: I have a glass top stove. I will using a All American canner. Will that work the same as a Presto?
all american may be too heavy for glass. call the manufacturer of your range and all american and make sure your model can take the weight. ❤️
What's the difference between storing the jars with the rings on or off? I've heard different pros and cons. Thank you
i have an entire video on this topic 😁 ua-cam.com/video/lnriWUIL8gQ/v-deo.html
Hiya! I've been watching your workshop video's and loving it! I do obtain a question though, I currently live in Florida and I keep my house at 78%, will this be a good temperature to store my cans? If not what would be the highest my temperature can be at? Thank you!
they say optimal is between 50-70F. I keep my home at 65-67 in the winter and around 70 in the summer. but here is a link for you. nchfp.uga.edu/how/store/store_home_canned.html
❤️
I do have a question. Mentioning the Tattlers, you have said they are reusable up to 10 uses and you ticked off with a marker. Was that on the lid or gaskets. If it's just the gaskets are the lids usable longer? I hope this made sense.
You are spot on! It is the gaskets that are recommended at 10 uses. The lids themselves can last indefinitely unless otherwise damaged. :-)
I am hoping to see the video about salts. I don’t know the difference between canning salt and regular salt, and when you should use each one
that video should be up soon! we are definitely going to talk about it. 😁👍🏻 i got your back!
You seem to be my go to gal when I’m canning. I have a question for you that maybe you can help me with. I just purchased quite a bunch of tattlers and I am trying to start using them more. Last night I canned black beans and I only used 2 because I didn’t want lid failure. Well one of them did fail. 😕 I thought I had put them in boiling water long enough...I also had some siphoning. Would that be the cause of the tattler not sealing? Thanks for the help and advice.
First time canning stew . I had siphoning and there was grease on top of the lid can you still trust it if jars show sealed .Thank you so much 😊
During the canning apocalypse I have gotten flat lids from amazon which got them from China,. They don't have a button but will still make the boinging sound when you press the lid. Just a little info from my experience. These are the ones I have to simmer.
I got some like that too. They all sealed perfectly, though, so I'm happy with them. Will stick with name brand lids when I can get them, but it's good to know these will work as a backup.
thanks for sharing that, sis! thats a good heads up. i appreciate it!❤️
