Holly shit, i just drew my first chrysanthemum.. whoot !
Like this tutorial the most out of your other chrysanthemums.
    Thanks heaps .
Will be doing these alot more and they will get better but first one is preety cool but next up is the peony.
Covering a box to put odds and sods in , it may as well look better than a xmas light box kicking about the place.
Its got wind bars and clouds all around it and i tossed a leaf or 3 in as i know what they look like in the flesh.
This part folds from the back and over the lid.
The peony is going on the front with more wind bars and clouds and ive already done the 2 ends with pink cherry blossoms and more clouds/ wind bars already.
Tomorrow everything else get hit with water colours but first got to get this front drawn up .
    Thanks once again.

No worries at all! Really glad you enjoyed this one! Drawing your first Chrysanthemum is indeed a great feeling, a complex looking flower that looks really detailed once complete

@@DaggetDesigns all coloured up it looks awsome.
I first done it in a light plum wash with a soft tone of pink on the insides of the petels and its looked nice but was kins of lost in the light gray of the wind bars so i amped up the plum by putting in as shading a half washedout indigo on the outer petals but a full on indigo at the base of the front petals to give some heavey shading just at the front between the petals transtion from going up in to the flower ball and the big long ones pushing to the front of the picture and blended back a a really pigmented lilac from the tips back down in to the plum so there is now 3 colours and several shades of the colours on the outer petals and the inner petals i blened up a tangerine from the base over the pink in the inner part to graduate in to that pink i had already laid down.
The noodles / staiman are the tangerine at the bottom blended in to a golden rod yellow with the center in the yellow too.
3 diffent greens in the leaves all blended from quite a vibrant geen in the centers out to a green thats very close to the neat sap green you use out to the edges and in to what would be shadows and now this thing pops .
Im wrapped, its still sitting on the table as i havent inked the peony yet and every time i walk past it a big grin gets on this mug as it screams at you " LOOK, COLOUR " lol.
The wind bars are just in a black wash of charcoal gray fading to nothing but i hit the clouds with a payne's gray Derwent inktense pencil instead of just the black wash and this gray has a hint of blue to it that you can faintly see under the darker parts of the black was in the clouds but the real light gray that fades out to nothing is just the payne's gray so you know there is something diffent about the grays of the clouds compaired to the wind bars but it has to be kind of pointed out what is the very slight difference to really see it .
Just playing , never played with this style befor and im thoroughly enjoying the way you teach .
      Thanks once again.
It looks so compicated but its like a formula, once you have the shape maped out , you follow the formula to draw in the details and it all just fell in to place.
      Yeah i love this tutorial.
Saved it in my drawing play list.

@@JadedGenXer sounds awesome! Really happy to hear that this tutorial served you so well!
And thats right, the right formula and plenty of practice is all it is, i try n break down the formula behind drawings to make it easier for people to learn 😁 thats half the work. The other half is of course practice

Been thinkin about buying those talens pens used indian ink earlier in the career and poscas with spihade fun to look up stuff like that ! thx for the show of the pens , got some problems with the colorgiveaway or whats its called id would like another color to step in but hey thats just me . tried promarkers before bought alot and cases and stuff but i thought those promarker padpapers sucked behind so i just left them at a shop . spitshade inks poscas and some random markers on 300grams coldpressed cottonpaper back to basics until i get over some of those to other than artshop prices ... horrid pricing here in sweden even on the ink from talens . someday . Hey Paul! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. Yeah i’ve been through so many different markers and paints over the years and art shop prices here in Australia are shithouse as well. $12.50 for one promarker locally. I’m now using liquitex acrylic inks on cold press 300gsm and its perfect for me, the colours are mixable to an extent and they’re expensive but you get what you pay for in these, haven’t even considered a change in ink for over 2 years. Keep drawing 😀🤘🏼

@@DaggetDesigns @Dagget Designs Hey Dagget ! thx for the reply , yep it sounds about the same over here copics and promarkers are up in that pricing. Hmm liquitex havent heard about them Bingsearching for the evening thx for the tip . Yeah i concur with that id rather have inkwells than pens a black filttip size over 5 easy 4-6 dollars its all about the art it cost yes but so does the needles and gloves that ones an expensive pony over here . Have a good one / Paul

    • @DaggetDesigns
      @DaggetDesigns  4 роки тому

Paul Nilsson so true Paul, the cost of art supplies is pretty heavy, gotta make sure you buy smart and only what you need. Part of the reason I enjoy working with a limited colour pallet, ie. traditional tattoo/ japanese tattoo. Colours are bold and beautiful but simple and you don’t need to have every colour under the sun. The other thing about inks that is awesome is you can get a gradient from full saturation to very light using water and a brush. As opposed to pro markers where you need to have a dark tone and light tone and every marker inbetween!

I’m fairly new to drawing how come I try copy this one it never turn out as smooth looking as yours. I can only draw the simple version of the chrysanthemum okay. Whenever I try draw one with these pointy patterns it never looks good :/

Hey there now! Don’t be so hard on yourself if you’re fairly new to drawing it’s going to take some time I certainly found a chrysanthemums can be a difficult subject matter to draw in the beginning as I have quite a lot of detail took me a long time to find the method that I use to draw chrysanthemums in the style that I like in the beginning they were very simple and basic keep up the good work and keep practising you’ll get it soon! 😁
