Thank you for all your music. I wasn’t raised a Catholic, but always have felt moved by the story of Our Lady of Guadeloupe. “Who am I to doubt these mysteries?” Such a profound statement. Life itself such a majestic mystery.
I was searching for Jimmy Dale Gilmore Banks of the Guadalupe and hit this by accident. I was just about to hit the back button, and that voice came through! Beautiful song!
Beautiful song Tom! I met you out in st.Albert Alberta. You signed my guitar and sang Gallo del Cielo together. Hope you always look to that beautiful lady , she'll take care of us!
Although I saw him over 30 years ago at some dive on Long Island, and bought an LP, I have now only begun to rediscover Tom Russell. To say the least, this man is absolutely awesome; I only ask myself : how did I lose touch with him, especially having a Central American wife who has some chicken coop! And a brood of roosters!
I love the album and this is a favorite song. I hope that Tom and Gretchen sing this one tonight (Oct. 17) at the Turner Hall in Mount Olive, Illinois.
My wife and I tried to see him twice and ge cancelled both times. I'm glad I found his music. I'd love to see him live before he moves on from the struggles of this life
Absolutely gorgeious. Very moving. Blood and Candle Smoke has gotta be one of the best albums I've heard in years. I wish I could get to Sisters, Oregon on the 4th of Feb. to see Tom sing.
I rate this song as being among Tom's very best. It describes the dilemma of needing to believe and yet refusing to believe and still leaving you undecided. Lyn Ebenezer. Thank you, Tom
This looks like someone's house? Where did you film it? Great song. I had the pleasure of traveling the Song Train from Toronto to Vancouver with Tom and the Flatlanders. An unforgettable experience.
So beautiful, so moving! Touches my heart and soul!
Tom is the Charley Russell of lyrics and music. Roll on Tom you sing the soundtrack of my life. Thanks Pard

He has evidently been fighting health problems for the past couple of years. We wish him all the best.
Today I became a Tom Russell fan. Thank you Eric for your channel. This is such a moving song.

The internal struggle of the fallen away Catholic. It is not an easy religion to follow. It does not promise salvation, only a cross.
The only word is STUPENDOUS.
nonpareil.
*thank you*
Lord,my poverty is real.
Brilliant!
