- New build has started, a 1985 #BMW #K100 RT.
In this episode the OEM exhaust get's a decent chop and finished of in Cerakote C-serie. Stay tuned for the exhaust sound at the end of the video!
I am fascinated by your work!! Did you just shorten the exhaust or change the course of it a bit to make it quieter? Mine is too loud for the TÜV.
Thanks man 👍🏼 I just shorten it, but did put back the original end plate like seen in the video. That helped quieting it a bit. Have to say, the TÜV sucks 😁
Brutal!
Great looking exhaust!
✌️
Thanks man!! I do sell these via my Instagram page, Corner.custom 👍🏼
Do you need stainless steel welding machine to weld the muffle?
Yes sir, it's a stainless exhaust
Great Job! What did you use to clean the stainless? Sanding paper? Polish?
I blasted the pipes in/outside with aluminum oxide and after that a brush to get the texture back 🤌🏼
Did you cut anything out of the muffler or did you just shorten it?
I didn't took anything out of the part that I've kept. I also sell these shortened exhausts via my Instagram page, Corner.Custom when interested
Just wondering why you cleaned the stainless steel pipes only to wrap them with tape?
The pipes which are wrapped with tape is another build of mine some years ago. The cleaned up pipes will go on my recent build which is 95% done by now. Will post another video of that soon
Can’t wait to see it!
@@garfunkel hopefully before this end of the month 👍🏼
What’s your rear width rim and what size is your rear tyre please ? Great job 👌🏻
It's a OEM K1200 wheel with a 160/16/17 tires on it
@@corner.custom 5´´ or 5,5 ´´ width ?
Great job. Would you offer the service to modify my k100 oem exhaust? For sure for the price you ask for
Thanks 👍🏼! For now I'm busy finishing up my two builds, but there's a chance I'll be taking on work like this in the near future. Would be more towards end of the year though
I've made a batch of shortened K100 exhaust, just like the one in the video. Send me a DM on Instagram (Corner.Custom) and we'll sort it out
i love love love the look.
Unfortunately the sound will attract unnecessary attention to my bike(traffic police).
Will buy if you can make one with a mellow sound ❤️from Singapore
The sounds isn't that loud. Please check recent build video of the K100 that's on my channel. You can hear it better in those soundclips
Is the shorter exhaust now only clamped to the four manifold pipes? Will not the weight of the exhaust damage the manifold connection points to the engine block?
Yes the shorter exhaust is only supported by the manifold clamps. Haven't had any troubles with this setup and I know quite a few builder who did the same and all without any troubles
So you cut original exhaust to half and velded back? video not realy clear
Actually I cut more than 60% off. But yes I weld back the original end cap to give a OEM+ look but then with way better sounds and flow
Hi, how close is the end cap to the inside pipes please?
Approx 2 centimeter, but the majority points towards the end cap
Damn that sounds mean
Sounds a lot more aggressive with a better flow
Nice. Want to do something similar but have it come out the other side.
Thanks! You mean the exhaust comes out on the swingarm side?
@@corner.custom yes
@@Garfoid I've seen some of those bikes on Instagram where the exhaust made a bend to the other side and had a similar end cap of the OEM exhaust. Looked good 👍🏼
@@corner.custom when you cut yours down did you have to make any mods internally to it.
@@Garfoid No just like the videos explained, no internal work necessary
Nice work Si, love the deep rumble 😍
Thanks mate 👊🏼👍🏼 Sounds so aggressive once shortened 💪🏼
Is it too loud for city driving? Im thinking about doing it my self but dont want enemies😂
No imho it isn't too loud, but that's also dependent on your right wrist 😉 There are also some soundclips of the bike with this exhaust on my channel, the red K100
Haha, i like this guy😏 I have trauma from riding v4 with straight pipe😂
Hahaha ok in comparison to a V4 with straight pipes it's quiet 😁🤟🏼
