Nohémie, I am just at the beginning of your video and I must say I really congratulate you for your very clever observation: your advice to serve the masses is really on point. I also loved the fact that you have not sugarcoated the reality of DRC and at the same time you haven't fallen into hyper criticism. I live in Kinshasa in the Matadi Mayo area.
I run an e-commerce business in the DR Congo. I sell electronics products online there. I now understand why it's not doing well. I've targeted the wrong market.
Nah i dont know why one should walk away from a deal Thats gonna create you Some money, you should always negotiate for a certain amount of down payment just to make sure it will cover your costs and still make you money. Yes government tend to pay their bills late because all those documents need to approved and signed by others.
Thank you very much @Nohemie for this teaching. You've answered a lot of my questions. I'm Congolese and I'm passionate about setting up a business in my own country, but I've never found a way to get started because of the fear of taxes and the harassment and intimidation from the administrative authorities.
Bonjour Nohémie ~ Thank you for your great insight! The first point and the arguments you put on the table were very much well-reasoned. I’m French (with Congolese origins) and God willing I would love to start a business in the DRC. It seems very challenging (I know it is!) but also so exciting to see so much potential. I am on Linkedin and I can observe that the dynamics are rapidly evolving in a positive direction but for a small part of the population. People are creative (like your bottle of water friend)! Whether I am a part of them or not, I am glad to see that opportunities are everywhere. I wish everyone the best according to God’s plan!
I have just discovered your channel and wow. It feels like I am watching an older version of myself. Avid traveller, bilingual entrepreneur cultivating and enjoying slow living, living between North America and Kinshasa and many more💕
Great video! I've been in Kin for about a year now. It's definitely tough out here but it's good to know there are others who've come back as well and are grinding it out. Been thinking about working out of SA or Kenya though, not gunna lie 😂
Hello Nohemie, the plastic bottle cap business of your friend sounds very interesting. I was wondering if i could get more information on them. Where are they situated exactly in the RDC?
It is has been a pleasure to watch this video. Kudos ! I am from DRC and I have never seen someone talking about business in Congo. I understand you choose to address people in English which is good to attract people worldwide. But is it possible to do other videos in French? But overall Well done for what you are doing ! I will subscribe 😂

Hey Nohemie, this is amazing, please for the past few years I’ve been looking at the real estate industry….and especially interior design Let me know what you’ve been seeing in terms of housing, pricing, architecture styles..I see a great gap and opportunity there You doing fantastic stuff
@@PG.00 hey its not a space im knowleageable on but i think its a niche for the small elite population. So first secure a contract/deposit with a client to validate demand

Maybe invest in learning some French or a Congolese language from a South African residing Congolese as the Congolese community is large in SA consisting of ppl across the socio economic classes and skillsets. They might make good further contacts for your business also by the time you'll be in the Congo.. just a brainstorm

@nohemie. Happy new year. Any tips for producing in Kinshasa or greater Congo for the fashion and jewellery business? Or should I just go to visit my family lol! Some of which work in government btw!
im extremely clueless in that industry so i dont want to lead you astray but i have friends in that space and they are struggling. The local labour is so the most trained so finishes/details aren't their strength. Im not a fan of the fashion industry tbh given the competition with chinese production, and im not sure what is the actual demand for congolese garments. I suggest you chat with 2-3 founders in congo and get them to guide you
@@nohemieco Hey Nohemie! Merci Beaucoup for answering my question. I figured fashion & jewellery production is almost non existent in Congo so for that I have be in Asia! But I was really looking forward to contributing and integrating in Congo! Nevertheless maybe I can still go and check out oppertunities on the ground.
