Hi! I'm Nohémie, pronounced (like you're screaming at a child): NO-AMY! I get bored easily, so to cope with that I would start small businesses , while desperately attempting to cultivate slow living. I'm challenging myself to become more consistent, as I embark on this new chapter of life in my 30's with my frenchie. Oh, and I love collecting passport stamps.
Ultimately, I want to be your melanin God-mother challenging herself to upload at least 1 video per week.
With love, xx

Very insightful and eye-opening. As one of those “diaspora” you spoke of, it takes courage to come back but I believe it all works out well when as you said you “sort out the right problem”. Keep the faith; you’re doing well
Hopefully more young and smart innovative entrepreneurs come to drc 🙏🏽
Wow This is the first video of yours that I've seen, and I absolutely love this kind of content! I also live in Canada and am considering moving back home. Your video has been the most helpful one I've come across. Do you recommend finding a job there before relocating and starting a business, or should I move back first and dive straight into my project? Thank you so much!
congrats! honestly there's no right way of doing it. If you're more risk adverse, do the job route as it gives you the cushion of earning an income whilst networking and discovering the local culture/market demand to inform your next business decision.
You speak English, French is spoken in the Democratic Republic of Congo. How do you contact local people for hotel bookings, local guides, bus tickets, car drivers? Because there is a language barrier here?
Democratic Republic of Congo English speaking good quality hotel accommodation, English speaking staff and English speaking tour guides available?
we welcome you to south africa
Very well presented video
Ohh Nohémie, how I feel your despair and understand your dilemma between choosing the easy way by staying in the West and the difficult but purposeful route of investing in Congo and making an impact. I am Congolese from the French diaspora living and now thriving in DRC since 2015 but it hasn't always been easy. In 2018 I even decided to leave everything behind and go back to France which I did... Only to figure out 4 years later that I made a terrible mistake because I know deep down that God is molding me into an impactful woman by being here and has bright things ahead of me ... But the route is not easy. As a regulator in the financial sector here in DRC, when I get to travel for "missions de service" in SADC countries to represent the DRC, I feel proud of myself because, although life in Kinshasa can be hell on earth, I feel respected and relevant where I am. France couldn't give me that, in fact I would have stayed far behind in life if I was still there. I also struggle to find a like-minded partner here and find Congolese men unattractive, I can't even look at my male colleagues as potential mates, their mentality is just horrible ! But I trust that if God wants me here, it also mean he can bring to me a man according to my wishes. (Désolée mon anglais n'est pas très bon)
"Ugly as hell had me on the floor"🤣. I've been in Lubumbashi for 5 months after 14 years in Pretoria and trust me my mental health has been declining. Everything stresses me out and nothing works properly. I'd rather run my businesses from Pretoria then move to Congo. I love it but no thank you💔
Lets hope ur patriotism comes back but it good that u like our country

This breaks my heart bc I _need_ the entire continent to be on the same page when it comes to ease of access in terms of infrastructure, modes of travel, freedom of movement and and and..bc just imagine how cool it would be to decide that I'm tryna vacation in Lake Malawi for a bit and then take the train to Vic Falls and then go up to Congo for some fish and all the while working and running my business on the road?? Europeans do it, how hard can it be? (lol, I jest) However wishing you all the best for your business endeavours in Lubumbashi..love from JHB!!
My biggest dream is for Congo to become like SA one day and to get all Congolese return to this amazing country, build it and make it the super power it was meant to be. Maybe not in my lifetime, but I'll make sure I do my part with my time on earth!!!
girl is so pretty!!!!!
SADC countries rock
Respect is earned not given.. as someone with a master's degree you should know that. Great vid regardless

Hi, I currently live in South Africa, precisely in Johannesburg, it's been almost 2 years, my English is not really developed, how did you speak English so well?

After the last episode shared about your experience in Kinshasa, I disliked the video and REFUSED to ever watch or receive any of your channel recommendations. But alas, UA-cam brought it back again. They're like no, just give her a chance so here I am watching the full video( the last time, I didn't bother finishing - pissed me the h*ll off). Why did you dislike the previous video?

Very good video! A Congolese here watching from United Kingdom, I agree with the challenges you've mentioned, especially the mentality of people in Kinshasa is so appalling. Regardless of all those challenges I have decided to move back to Congo mainly because of long term health benefits, organic food, weather, and being my own boss, and also avoiding a lot taxes like here in the West. But I will not be living in Kinshasa. I also think that it would be better to set up a Homestead and live off grid, and set up a business that you will not necessarily need to depend on people so much, for example having a couple apartments to rent out for holidays makers... This is what I have in mind, I don't wanna depend on the government or anyone... Thank you and all the best
Hello Sis thank you for sharing your experience, I grow up in Kinshasa ;isn’t for the weak I prefer Lubumbashi .
Just subscribed to your channel. I love your truth. You spoke the honest truth. And this goes across to all African diasporans. Every now and then i have to travel out for my mental health😂😂😂😂😂 . Its tough out there, but its fun. Life is more fun and exciting ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Im proud of what youre doing. It takes great courage relocating. I relocated 18 yrs ago to my country, I'm still struggling with the mentality.

Hey Nohemie, if you ever visit London,it would be nice to hang out. I like watching your videos. I have a business Idea but I don't know if it would work out in Congo. When I last visited, I didn't like the taste of it. I would like to do business trying out different chocolate flavours. I would your opinion on this. What brand of chocolate is popular there. Thanks ❤😅 Rachelle
