I majored in Marketing In college and I can tell you after working on that for a while before it made me realize how Marketing is used by evil to basically lie to the consumer and create fake desires, status , needs that nobody really needs. Marketing is materialism at is best and totally empty and shallow . Companies want to create busying addiction to the consumers and it will never satisfy . Live healthy , forget the world and follow your peace .

Introverts living in an extroverted world. Thats how I feel in this world. I can conversate with anyone about anything, but i see things differently than most people around me and the rest of the world. It is weird, but thats what our society has done to us.

I'm most lonely when I have to be around so called other "people". I don't want to be connected to them. I don't think like them at all. I much prefer dogs and long hikes in deep woods which I do almost every day. When I'm out there alone I'm all of a sudden not lonely. My internet friends are all dead such as Schopenhauer and Henry Miller and more.

Yes, but I try to work on this within myself. It's so easy to look at the flaws of others. But real growth happens through self-examination. Once we tame our own ego, then we can see beyond the ego in others.

Your comments ring so true. I've always felt unique in not being as swept up in mainstream things like celebrity gossip, fashion, wearing makeup, watching dumb TV shows, etc. as so many others seem to be. If we switched our focus to things that actually matter, there would be a lot less suffering, and I think a less loneliness in the world.

I agree. I have been embracing sacred solitude for a long time now & have my moments of the lonelies I would love to meet like minded people who prefer to connect & engage more deeply yet I also would like the balance of enriching fun & playful friendships. In the past I have met people in person who think like I do but tend to be so deeply introspective it's all about the depth, it would be nice to meet some fun & clear thinkers who also don't take things so seriously. Someone once told me we tend not to meet many people like that because they are needed in different places across the globe & we are networking on the web. But yes real connection I seek this too.

Mike Barooshian hi Mike, don't give up. I posted this 2 years ago and everything has changed. I started practising mindfulness and doing hoopononono (google it) and really valuing my time and me. It's a long process, so no quick fixes, but every day I've done it and I have great friends now. I believed I was invisible so when I began to embrace the fear and sadness from a loving place (not resisting it or trying to change it), I began to open my heart to me. I then became more visible to the right people. I've had depression for a long time and it's lifting. Changing my diet helped too, removing gluten and milk products and cutting back on the sugar gave my body space to breathe, the heavy foods depressed my body and emotions. Keep going, there is a way through the dark, it just takes daily practice and self acceptance xxx

Mike Barooshian ps. A friend of mine who is 42 never had a girlfriend or good job either and this year he has his first girlfriend and has had a good job. He's done the same as me, meditation, hoopononono and mindfulness. Xx

It's so hard to forget about how one was "programmed" since birth. It's hard to get out of the material comfort but it feels so much nicer and better to live a simpler life and centre in ourselves. It's hard to live in society knowing something that people don't want to get out of. I'm happy I can find people that know this stuff.

Great vid...It's difficult to both be non judgemental, but also recognize, as you say, the lack of depth and integrity in people, the inability to question most everything, the interest in being good when no one is looking, to use a common phrase. For me, when I'm interacting with people, be it friends (who I almost use just to fill the small social niche in my life), or at a job, I feel like a have to be some one else just to avoid coming off as some patronizing preacher.Introvert disadvantage.

There are so many others who think like you but are suffocated by the mask of conformity. If you have the courage to take off your mask, others will then slowly feel safe to take off theirs. When we advertise our true self, we begin to find kindred spirits. Take an active effort in meeting those outside of your normal sphere. Go to meetup dot com, meditation classes, book/hiking clubs, and travel. Become an explorer of life by getting out of your comfort zone. You're not alone!

    Very interesting steve.
I enjoyed this video very much.
Absolutely agree with you and people do spend far too much time watching nonsense on the tv just so they can talk about last nights game show or what soap star said what to another bla bla,and for what?
To become popular at work and fit in with collegues.
That`s my opinion anyway and I would much prefere to walk in the park or somewhere quiet away from all the noise.

Or we can release control and give each other space to be. Let's share values without imposition. Fear creates the illusion of needing to control or fight. Living in the now is the great antidote to so many woes.

I have a natural attraction to pursue altered states of mind. Whether it be from one of the many psychoactives that grow from the ground, or it comes from within. I have never understood the heard mentality, until my first mushroom experience. It was then I realized, everyone I knew seemed to be running some kind of race against eachother. Like idiots running for the finish line in a life they will have a chance to be again. We must return to our roots with modern knowledge and go to space.

Personally I think people tend to keep to themselves or become loners because getting involved with people often ends up bad. I trust very few people, but was not always like that. After dozens of back-stabbings I have become less naive as to how cruel others can be. Alone=safe.
