    Big EV fan here. Enjoyed your vid and can not dispute a lot of what you argue ... EV's are overpriced for what they deliver. The technology is still developing and cost will drop with economy of scale. Most of the people embracing it are just EARLY ADOPTERS, who will gladly pay the price to be on the cutting edge of technology. Several points you are wrong about. There is already charging that is powered by totally renewable energy. It's mostly private home systems powered by solar and a minute amount of token public ones to greenwash and prove it can be done. Another point you are SO WRONG about is hydrogen. It might make sense in some sectors perhaps like shipping, trains, aviation and long haul trucking, but is SO STUPID for personal transportation. It's just incredibly fraught with implementation problems and inefficiency. Do a deep dive into it, and you will see. I honestly don't think you'll ever have to worry about giving up driving ICE in your lifetime. It's just the F'd up government trying to flex, it'll keep getting pushed back or changed.

      You make really good points, I've since learned about solar recharging stations at people's homes. Like I said in the video I really don't have a problem with EVs just the Government mandating everyone to go out and buy one before they are fully implemented and the grid updated. Thanks for watching brother be safe out there.

    I'm all for EVs, when they have perfected solid state batteries, have the improved motors w/out rare earth magnets, charging times are comparable to ICE, and the infrastructure is there. Forcing early adoption is a bunch of hooey. A lot of people compare the coming electrification to when cars took over from horses. There's fallacy there, though. We didn't have the infrastructure - and our lives didn't require it! Cars took over once we did, AFAIK. Cars were expensive, just like EVs are now. BUT, I've never heard anyone say that the car was forced upon the populace the way EVs are.

    • @AkaBull
      @AkaBull  11 місяців тому +1

      100% agree, that's exactly what I'm talking about. We don't have the infrastructure for full EVs yet, and forcing it on the population won't suddenly magically appear.

      That's unrealistic. Don't let perfect be the enemy of good!
      EVs are not forced on you. You can drive fossil vehicles till 2035. You will buy gladly an electric car before that time.
      Our lives didn't requre cars, when the took over horses and the infrastructure wasn't there either.

    Nobody said that electric vehicles will save the planet. That is a lie. Electric vehicles are just a piece of the whole transformation. And saying, that electric vehicles need electric energy produced by coal, is just dumb. Because, as mentioned, it is a transition. It does not change from one day to another. It takes time. But, when you never start, because it is not entirly ready, it will never change. Same goes for the price and the range.
    Perhaps for you, the range/price is not yet good enoug. Ok. But there are a lot of people, who have other needs and possibilities. I don't need a big range and I have money. An electric bike would suit my needs perfecly.
    And nobody is forcing electric bikes on you. That is pure nonsense. You are building a strawman.
    So this whole video is a typical narrow-minded, petrolhead bullshit.

    • @AkaBull
      @AkaBull  8 місяців тому

      Point taken. Now let me add this, have you seen the bill in California where it literally says gass powered vehicles will banned? Which is “forcing” anyone who lives there to either buy an electric vehicle or get public transportation, are even following what's going on?.
      As for coal, how many solar powered EV charging stations you see driving around? Let me guess, 0.
      Ev vehicles aren't a step forward, but a step backwards. Now hydrogen car would definitely be a step forward.

      @@AkaBull Sorry for my harsh words. But I heard these arguments so many times in connection with electric cars. And the arguments were mostly massivly exaggerated. I know it, because i drive an EV.
      The Californian Bill talks about 2035, when new(!) fossil vehicels will be banned.
      So, you can drive fossil motorcycles till the end of your life.
      And the bill does not say, that the vehicles have to be electric. They just have to be (nearly) emission free.
      I can't speak for the US. I live in germany. And all public charging station here use green energy from solar and wind power.
      Again: We are in the beginning of a transformation:More green energy, less fossil energy. Step for step. Year for year.
      I accept, when someone says, that he is doing long trips with his motorbike and relays on fossil vehicles.
      But there are many people, who need their bikes for urban use. Not more, than 70, or 80 miles a day. For these people electric bikes are optimal. Especially, when the ride is short, you don't have to hold back, because the motor is cold.
      Another point: You can install a wallbox at home, and you will have fast charging at home.
      Hydrogen vehicles are dead. For a good reason: Hydrogen is inefficiant and expensive. You would need 3, or 4 times as many windmills and solarpanels compared to battery vehicles.
      EV vehicles are superior in nearly all aspects, only the range is a weak spot, yet. But till 2035 this weakpoint will be eliminated. Did you ever try a Zero? It is breathtaking.
      I drive an electric car. And every time I am forced to drive a fossil car, I feel like going back to the dark ages. Fossil cars are sluggish, unresponsive, uncultivated, loud. EVs are so fun to drive.
      Give electric motorbikes time! They will improve massively. Charging infrastructure will improve.

      @@rolandibanez2509 You're good brother, this is the internet, people come at me all the time, I really try not to take it personally, everyone has their opinion on different matters, and so it should be.
      We don't have solar panel charging stations yet to charge EV vehicles, that is I guess a ways off.
      Like I said before, I have nothing against advancing technology, I love it, and I wish it well. But as it stands right now, we over here in the US won't be ready in 2035, I haven't seen any plans yet to fix the election gride so we can move way from fossil fuel. I don't know if pushing a bill against fossil fuel will encourage companies to push harder in the EV evolution, we'll have to wait and see.
