    No, these videos aren't studio production quality. But they have the best info out there. And the more you watch, the more you appreciate the background "noise".

    Thank you, very helpful. This morning my lower back pain from a muscle strain was so intense I could barely figure out how to get out of bed. I iced during the day and did these hip openers after work and I've forgotten about the pain almost completely, I avoided meds completely. Thank you!

    Nice. My right lowerback is in pain. With the glute stretch i really felt it was tighter on the right then on the left glute. (Pulled my back while deadlifting a bar that was not perpendicular to the floor..). Thanks Kelly!

    Thanks Kelly.
    Kelly, any clinics you suggest that would be helpful for us construction guys to learn how to do maintenance exercises on our bodies? Thanks and keep the stretching videos coming.
    I am a carpenter by day and a business man at night writing contracts for my remodeling company here in San Francisco (oh yeah, I have an 8 month old daughter who keeps us on our toes!). I get a little of the computer pain at night and the working with your hands pain during the day. Basically, I need to keep up on the stretching.

    Hey Kelly, Two months ago I had an inguinal hernia repair with mesh and some days its OK and other days it annoys me. I know this isn't anything to do with this video, but hoped you could get back to me with some ideas on how to go about apply specific functional movements to enable it to heal. Thanks. X

    Do you have a video out for beginners? I have lower back tightness and leg, foot, chest cramping. Deep breathing is difficult. Also have shortness of breath upon awakening if I am on my back, but when I turn my head to the side I can take a deep breath without resistance. I am tight all over. Can you help?

    Hey was wondering if any of you gurus could recommend a doctor or rehab specialist I could visit in NYC ideally Manhattan? Thanks your videos are great and I have watched many of them but I am dealing with several injuries and want to get them looked at and corrected before they worsen.

    Is it possible to have a bit of flexion and extension related back pain at the same time?

    • @tampamax7633
      @tampamax7633 9 років тому +1

      Yes you can show symptoms that would typically apply to both. I have the same issue. Tight posterior chain that gives me upper glute pain near my coccyx, and ti ght hip plexors that give me major lower back arching resulting in horrible lower back pain.

  • @lizzierunliftbreathe
    @lizzierunliftbreathe 8 років тому

    I honestly think I have both flexion and extension tightness. I've been trying to think about my posture throughout the day and then squeezing my butt and standing or sitting up tall (I sit a lot for my job) I think I have caused tension by doing this because my body is constantly fighting itself. it's hard to sit up straight because my front muscles are so tight and hard to keep my lower back straight because of the tight psoas. also, my piriformis seems to be pulling on my right hip and the muscles within my iliac crest feel tight too aaahhh help! I think I need to do all of the above but, should I do it in a specific order so as not to cause more strain?

    • @TYPOFTUG
      @TYPOFTUG 7 років тому

      I have the same issue, led to piriformis syndrome. Hip flexors will be tight AND hamstrings as well so definitely don't lift heavy like I did it'll make it worse. Same goes for using a lacrosse ball on the glutes or abductors and flexor. Pigeon pose/King pigeon pose has been my savior as well as some other poses. Try "flossing" the hamstrings as well. Mobility decreases with time and I found out the hard way so just learn from my mistake. Any questions try and see a physiotherapist they can really aid in recovering posture/mobility.

    So if I get pain in sacrum when I flex then I need to strech my glute muscles only, right?

    • @PureShinigami
      @PureShinigami 10 років тому +1

      You need to stretch your glutes, hamsterings, buttcheeks, legs in general. Every problem starts lower than it actually is :)

    • @alexandrtcacenco8129
      @alexandrtcacenco8129 10 років тому +1

      PureShinigami My phisical therapeut said the same. I did those streches and lacross ball massage for months, but it didnt helped. I even quit training my 5x5 routine. But then few months later I have started to train my abs and obliques every day very hard. 7 days later not a single sign of pain. System of systems.

    • @PureShinigami
      @PureShinigami 10 років тому

      Alexandr Tcacenco Ohh, well its hard to know where it starts at all times. Should see a osteopath too as well, they are legit. If you want to that is. Core in general can fix some of those issues too. Try to open up your hips as well, they might suffer from your guts hanging too much on your hips and pushing on that sacrum. Its a guess, i don't major in anything nor do i have a degree, but its worth a shot. My guess is that your abs were abit too weak to support you.

    • @alexandrtcacenco8129
      @alexandrtcacenco8129 10 років тому +1

      What I have discovered in my situation is that to "open the hips" have cased the pain i my lower back. What I did is to strengthen abdominal, transvers abdominals and hip flexors. Pain was gone in a week after 8 months with pain.
      My next problem to solve is ly left knee.

    • @tampamax7633
      @tampamax7633 9 років тому

      The band in the first stretch male sure your hips stay platformed to the ground to really get a good stretch in the back and side of your hips. And in the second is to open the hips up more than a regular hip flexor stretch would
