This is gonna be a long one. Personally as someone who is really invested in the Abjurer girls for a good number of reasons, want all of them (don’t have Tsukinogi and the gacha is being a real bitch with giving me even a single Quercus), and is one Mastery away from M6 Nine, I feel that people kinda miss what the branch is actually about. It does make sense though since before the trait change HG clearly didn’t know what it was about either when it was only Tsukinogi. First off, Abjurers are NOT MEANT to be main healers in the vast majority of situations. Sure they have a faster ASPD compared to medics, but they have a lower ATK stat to counter balance that, so they don’t have the healing output medics have with their normal healing and their skills. They don’t really compete with healing defenders and Bards either for those same reasons. I believe they are now designed to be used as very situational and emergency ops in a squad. HG put the branch in the Supporter archetype for a reason. Nine is the best example of how the branch works to players new to the branch but she is strangely slept on due to her simplicity over Quercus. All three girls have their own unique gimmicks in their kits, it’s just that Tsukinogi is still unfortunately far from being in at least a decent spot like the other two because HG are more focused on buffing ops and branches more players are willing to use.
Aside from dodge if the shelter effect could buff defense or in-range regeneration, they would be at least useful. Their main job is to mitigate damage but many operators already have that as a niche capability. Being a support for emnity operators, summons and allied NPCs could be a niche that abjurers can still do since babysitting NPCs is still an annoying stage gimmick.
It's sad that despite being the first of her class, Tsukinogi is still unusable. At least Nine Colored Deer has her amazing base talent to make up for her. Can't wait to see what the hell will HG pull to make the archetype shine more like what they did with bard
2:45 From subpar caster to subpar medic. Quercus S1 has 405 heal per second. Shining S3 has 321 heal per second. She isn't a subpar healer. Shining heals every 2.85s. While Quercus at 1.6s. Both using Quercus and Shining at max level, trust, mastery, but not max pot. Pot wouldn't change that much. Yes you can argue Shining S3 has a great buff, but the healing aspect isn't remotely subpar. It is decent. Many medics only has around 400 atk with 2.85s heal interval. Also her shelter works if your operator at more than 70% HP rather than below 40%, it is why she's more useful than Tsukinogi.
@@Fizzyon71 Put some calculation will help, than just putting her next to Sussuro, the best single target healer in the game. Oh btw when Shining S3 on cooldown, her heal went down to 214 heal per second. While Quercus stays on 405.
Quercus has a really large personality and is quite nice in the mini event stories with Goldenglow. I do wish that the archetype was better on a whole if only because I love NCD's design, skill animations and sound effects. I want her skill cycles to be much faster and the shelter effect to be worth considering. Like up to 30% dmg reduction would be sweet.
A side note that she has great synergy with gavial alter, who recently released on CN. her S3 causes her to take all damage taken during skill to be reduced by 50%, but given as a bleed over 20s when skill is done. Her skill lasts for 25s, with an SP cost of 35 at M3. Quercus has a 17s duration with a 25 SP cost. She heals once every second, giving 17 SP. she reduces the downtime of gavialter from 35 -> 18s, and since Gavial S3 lasts 25s and quercus S2 has a downtime of 25s, it can loop infinitely almost perfectly.
I actually think that Quercus' S2 is a great SP battery, just as you said with operators that drains their HP, it's also great for stages with mist. The place where she can be at her best, in my opinion, is to have her S2 serve only one operator, preferably a DPS melee operator, who can spam its abilities so long that it receives constant damage. I pronounce Abjurer as "ûb-yoo-ruhr"
Bringing Quercus as a secondary medic with Shining or Nightingale can lead to some significant notice in durability or if you have units that arent very tanky you wanna use it makes a massive difference, like Crushers and Franka with S2. Quercus has a permanant place in my squads cause the squads i like to play personally
Abjurers just don't have a place in current state of game where everything can just one-shot you. Every character, operators & enemies alike are all bloated with offensive prowess that it's now very difficult for defensive operators to shine.
I mean, Shelter is a rather useless effect, but if she had a shorter charge time on her skill 1, so it could be toggled with ease, she would've been a bit better ngl. And well, she's going to be used as an Sp battery anyway, if she is even used.
@@Fizzyon71 mhm. But oh well, I got Goldenglow in 10 pulls, so no Quercus for me lol. Saving my heart and soul for Fiametta and Horn now lmao. And then Pozyomka.
One of the cool things with Quercus is that her shelter effect is much more efficient to use than Tsuki and Deer, because it naturally activates above 70% hp rather than below... I believe it's 40%? Anyway, it's much better that way because it lets you naturally survive high bursts of damage more easily, getting damage reduction under 40% hp doesn't do much in that regard and stopping a unit from slowly dying is a much more niche situation than mitigating burst.
I thought she can only heal when skill is activated, I got her just because her base skill can give clue 5 (which I needed a lot) And in defend of Tsukinogi she was the last resort of the battle with Blackknight aka Degenbrencher aka strongest boss have ever created
The shelter effect work pretty good with the kind of unit that dont have any bulk in them, it mostly design for op like skadi or specter who dont have good defense and get maul down easy and those kind of unit value pure heal more than buff and heal so it isnt that hard to use, the main problem with them is the number, their skill sp and value suck. The deer easy to use but too little value, tsuki ceiling is too low. Their niche is low cost put down to kill some mob while prepare to heal when the mid guy come but myrtle exist so there is that, the only time they get a good use is with unit that dont have the bulk and these kind are rare already. Just give them the ability to heal emity and thing will be good.
fiamettaS3|S2 +quercus s2 that is about the bes combo since quercus can about full charge fiametta s3m3 or fia s2 and clear all enemies in her range quercus makes fia fast redeply nuker specialist =)

So they bad all around?
@ No. I have them all now and after building them I can concretely say they are all great.

1:49 my man so mad af XD
Never interrupt a gamer
As someone who only just e2'd her a few hours ago for both waifu and interesting Abjurer reasons, this is a pleasing title to see!
I hope you enjoy her company!

Yes, she does heal when either skill is active
tbh, i love her at first sight ^^
Abjurer that can give camouflage too all allies in attack range would be cool, i rather want that on an aoe medic
her skill activates when others health in her range drop below %70 so yes she is better than all other abjurers.

btw Quercus s2 towards Ifrit s3 doesn't work since operators cannot gain SP during skill.
Ifrit may not get the SP, but at least she can be healed

i recall there's ops that have talent reduce her own HP but gain ATK buff or something. Fiametta IIRC? how do you think she's paired up with that op?
That might have been Aak, I guess. Quercus and Aak works pretty well together
@@Fizzyon71 no they're right, fiametta (who releases on global soon) slowly loses HP over time as her talent, so it would work fine as a sp battery.
