Thank you for putting this video up. Very informative. Does anyone know why there was the breakaway from the 3rd sect?
It's a complicated issue, but ut basically boils down to disagreements about how progressive the then-leader ,Jake Kleinsasser of the S.L was. He pushed for higher education, and prioritized culture over tradition. Others disagreed with his methods and views and that led to the split. It was actually pretty horrible lol i was like 6 when it happened in my community. If you want to know more, Kenny Wollman and Ian Kleinsasser are two Hutterite historians that have studied all three sects.
Just came across these videos of Hutterites. Seems like it is the sect's decision who enters heaven and not God's. Seems like iniquity to me.
Nice explanation, Wesley. It's good of Wesley to do videos like this and that he and his colony are willing to do shows like "Meet the Hutterites". When people get to know the true facts and beliefs of different kinds of folks, and get to see them living their faith in ordinary lives, it builds bridges of understanding and tolerance. actually the Hutterites have traditionally treated women as equals! its just a misconception that traditionalist groups are chauvinistic!

I feel like its the younger ones that change accents the most. I'm guessing that the younger ones are exposed to mainstream people more often/more recently through school. They have probably gotten used to covering up their accent somewhat when talking to people outside the colony.

How sad. I think Jesus called us all to be just Christ-Followers. These guys have reduced it to polka dots. The names are divisions just like St. Paul warned against……those baptized by Paul etc. This is so so sad. Legalism has only 2 children: Pride and Self Defeat.
