I feel like a lot of Tamiya fits into the weird, like those 6x6 trucks with a hundred gears in them. They really only have: touring cars, semi trucks and weird.
In a motorcycle form the steering makes perfect sense, though the mechanics are probably closer to a shopping trolley. The footage of it in the sun is absolutely gorgeous
Exactly, I have an RC motorcycle from the 90s of a Honda VFR750R that works almost the same way. The difference is, the battery was in a swing tray at the lowest part of the bike so a servo would shift the weight of the battery from one side to the other to turn. The front end flops around just like the Dual Rider.
I bought my T3-01 Dancing Rider when they were announced. They released tons of option and hop-up parts for it. Among other things, mine has Tamiya Rally tires on all three wheels.
Love weird Tamiya, and the kart seems to drive great aside from the drift track. Keep the weird stuff coming. Loving this gold level ding-dong content.
I have an idea for a neat video, do a WPL budget build off. Let’s say you get a 150-200$ total budget you buy any truck from their site I’d be interested in what would come out of it, there’s a lot of ways it can go and would be interesting to see what you guys can do with those little trucks
Well I'll admit. I kind of wamt onw. Could be a good gift for my buddy who loves riding motorcycles. He loves rc to. Very cool video. The racing kart is awesome. 😎👍👍
The paint job you did on the futuristic trike is fantastic. If you get another one you should try a cell shading paint job. It would look awesome and fit the style of the vehicle 🤘y'all have a badass day🤘☕️🤘
Weird RCs are the best RCs so really glad to see a second episode of this :) Seeing the GoKart run is awesome too, I really wish those were more common as an entry-level open-wheeler class as they look like such fun (although tbh even open-wheelers aren't that common anymore unfortunately). The Tamiya 6x6 MTs (G6-01) are also quite weird, at first glance they're fairly normal but the engineering is interesting because Tamiya decided that driveshafts are overrated and decided to have a massive Gear Mechanism drive all 6 wheels. Of course its Tamiya so it only comes with bushings which means you then need to go hunt down something like 40 bearings to sort it all out, they're definitely very cool though when given a proper Brushless setup and 4WS (2WS has an absolutely god awful turning radius).
@@scalebuildersguild you're welcome and thank you for reviving this series :) I really like 6x6s so the G6 platform is right down my alley, personally the Kong Head is my favourite but the Dynahead is probably the most interesting as it also features Portal Axles to be sort of like a crawler. I unfortunately haven't had a chance to see one irl so I don't know how well it can actually crawl though.
Monthly mayham idea, 1/10th scale tuff truck challenge. Light aluminum body to show all dents, must be on leaf springs, 4.19 tires, complete to scale. The catch: 6S brushless setup and reverse controls. Also, high speed gears. The truck: trx4 sport, the gray and green version
I love my Dancing Rider, I of course made it into an Rothmans NSR500 Wayne Gardner pension spec bike to go along with my original Kyosho NSR500. A cheap brushless in the dancing rider and its wheelies all day long. Mad fun.
I ❤ weird RCs. Phil from @TomleyRC just mentioned a website were they have a go kart RC kit, I'm wandering if it's the Aliexpress one you mentioned. I believe I'll have to add one to the collection... 😅 This trike, does it traction roll easily on 2s or does it stay upright no matter how aggressive you are with the steering? Great footage, music and effects on the trike. 👌 Dam Matt, what smooth transitions you make to your usual "subscribe, comment, like, etc" lines! 😄
It does traction roll at high speed, or when off throttle, and doing a full beans turn, but it’s pretty stable overall, as speed isn’t a strong point. I love it though!
Riding a bicycle no-handed is the same principal as this steering. Steering axis angle combines with the amount of offset of the front fork to determine how much the bike will steer naturally when leaned. Weird fact of the day.
There’s an actual vehicle that looks and drives just like this. I remember seeing it on Top Gear with Richard Hammond driving it, but I can’t remember what it was called.
Was the go kart footage slowed down as it didn't look very fast and now the driver looks like Gort from the Keanu R version of The Day The Earth Stood Still! 🤣👍
Should check out a RC I got a while back I have a few videos one is "will drive you mental" it's a dancing singing RC tractor a rip off of the tractor from "cars" it's advertised as a drift RC...I won't to modify mine but health is in the way at the moment love the idea of this light hearted segment love the go kart as a vintage treasure cheers mate 🤟
Instead of 50 cinematic drive bys set to music...it would be nice to just have some regular filming from the drivers perspective. I can't gauge from the slow mo and erratic editing what the actually speed is. I watch RC videos for the cars not the professional level camera work and film festival editing. This is pure personal preference and I can simply just skip passed to the parts i find valuable.

no it doesnt. get a bike you baby
The 'wierd' steering is common on RC bikes, and reproduces how full size bikes work. It shifts the weight to force it to lean into the corner.

"I'll put a picture here of the Dancing Rider so you know the difference between the two of them..."
And we are still waiting on that picture... 😂
😂
Bringing back some memories of when Dancing Rider first came out and StevoD313 ( RIP
That Fijon motorcycle has been waiting patiently for these types of episodes!
Love weird Tamiya, and the kart seems to drive great aside from the drift track. Keep the weird stuff coming. Loving this gold level ding-dong content.
Thanks for watching! Glad you're enjoying the content!
LOL the formula design leads us to believe it will be fast…. I’m glad you cleared that up in the driving footage 😂.
Nice video! Always thought these were cool RCs! I wonder if it would drift with some drift wheels and wider rear 🤔
Firm up the diff, put some slide-y wheels on there, and give it a try! I'd like to see that from you!
I have two dancing riders, and I love them. Get a race going on a short track, they are hilarious fun!
Sounds fun!
the camera work on this gave me chills. so good.
Thank you!
I feel like the trike would be an epic contender for a mayhem speed challenge. Take the bonkers all the way up to 55
The Taiyo Edge BMX RC with rider would be a good one to feature 🙂👍🏻
Something I'll never buy, but still interesting to see here 😅
The K-Pop music was perfect for that Dual Rider footage 😂
Very cool video ! Please more weird RC stuff !!!
Tamiya Dual Rider is awesome and i love mine. Favorite Tamiya model after my heavy dump.
So much fun, thank you for sharing with us!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Tamiya Dancing/Dual Rider race when?!
Cuteness overload😊
Weirdly cute 🥹
That cart needs a bobble head. 😊
Can't wait to see what other goofy rcs you can find. Nice vid Matt👍
Thanks!
The kt8 and other little carts like that are great on rubberized tennis courts that are clean and dry
Thanks for the tip!
I like the comical buggys. They are a blast to drve. 😃
Totally!
This looks like it moves pretty good for just a 380 and a 2s in there
You gotta put the skeeride or a blizzard on here. Let em shine. 😁
My kind of RC, weird and unique!!! 😅

That dual rider looks fun and weird, cause there’s only one rider.. 😢
Fingers crossed more drift content 🤞 haha love your work 😊

And sooooooo many connectors cut off! lol
Great video as always! Thank you Matt!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Other weird rc's ironically from Tamiya; the SW01 MudMad and Mini Lunchbox. G6-01 Konghead/King Yellow/Dynahead/Volvo off-road dump truck.
G6-01 is definitely a popular suggestion, thank you!

+1 this would be cool.
🤘🍻🤘
I love my dual rider. Just ran it on 3s and a sporttuned motor. It did 26 mph
The motor you mention, 550 size, right?
The thing must have looked funny going that speed. 😅 And precarious too! 😅
@@just.jose.youtube Nope! I used a 380 sport tuned .I have a video of it
@@JoevsRc oh, ok! Didn't know there were 380 sporttuneds also. 👍 Will check it!

@@scalebuildersguild uh oh. Picked up a Dual Rider today from my local shop. Plans are hatching..
Yup the yellow and teal❤
Kamtec 3 wheeler would probably make for a good episode. Maybe show some of the racing they do with them in the UK as well.
Matt does have one and featured it once or twice (one time he showed some details on it). I'd also like to see more of it though. :)
I'll add it to the list!
Really the music Tho lol 😂very weird unit indeed.
I ❤ weird RCs.

Tamiya is best for me .
love me Lunch Box 😘
Nice. Can’t wait for the next episode
Okay. Now upgrade it to do wheelies. 😁
Well, what about the Kyosho HangOn Riders? Always wanted the Suzuki, but somehow never got one.
Not to worry, I’ve got one!
I'm sticking around!!
Great content here gentlemen
Thank you!
not sure how weird but certainly uncommon. I have a Cross RC BC8
Now want to go outside and run my Tamiya Stuff!
Go for it!
Riding a bicycle no-handed is the same principal as this steering. Steering axis angle combines with the amount of offset of the front fork to determine how much the bike will steer naturally when leaned. Weird fact of the day.
Weird fact for a weird RC. Thanks for sharing!
If you can find one, another weird Tamiya kit is the Tumbling Bull tractor-truck. They're pretty rare, though.
Love that one!
You forgot to add in the picture of the dancing rider! Now I'll never know what it looks like!
😂
There's only 1 rider, weird indeed.
i like it, 👍 👌
There’s an actual vehicle that looks and drives just like this. I remember seeing it on Top Gear with Richard Hammond driving it, but I can’t remember what it was called.
Yes, the Carver One! Very fun!
Cool looking but looks slower then a turtle lol
Sometimes slow is fast.
Can't believe that I missed this video. Sorry Matt

Yes it was.
Yep! It was slowed down!
ahh man, now I want one and I don't know why.
That thing need a brushless swap
I try to stay away from weird RCs now unless they have IFS2. Seems like I'm done... 😅
that gocart rc is cool dam lexan counter goes to 0 days lol
I have to actually work with Lexan! Touching it or driving it doesn’t count! Ha!

Will you be checking out Traxxas' new 2 speed transmission for the TRX4M?
Yes, and the portals. Next episode of WOTB!
@@scalebuildersguild awesome!!
Great video! How do you follow the rigs so fast, it’s like your on roller skates cruising next to them.
Nope! Just running!
Weird also, is the fact that the porn music fits the go kart scenes perfectly.
Change the sign to 0 days. 😂
I’d like to see a 1/10 scale RC school/city bus. I only saw a shortened school bus body once. Anyone ever see a regular length bus?
That would be cool!
I dig it
Was the gocart in slow motion? Lol
Look up Top Gear: Carver One.
I think it might shed some light on this little guy....
Yes. Any more questions?
Same color as mine, needs metal gears, the transmission keeps slipping on me,added headlights for night riding
Amazon has 1 Dual Rider as of posting
You realise this is based off the Dutch vehicle the carver right?
Yes, Richard Hammond reviewed it on Top Gear!
ha. I was like 3-6-9..
Trifekta rc. 3d printed 3 wheeler. 2 models available. Check them our.
Will do! Thanks!
look at all the philips head screws come on Tamiya get with the hex head screws lol
Akshually... it's even worse, they're JIS so phillips drivers don't fit properly. I'm ready for RC world to just go to torx
