On the bolt action rifle watching the metal peel apart like we've seen clay do previously, is insane and really does prove that at high enough energies, even the most solid objects start to act like fluids.
Interestingly, Quantum mechanical calculations do show the melting point of at least some metals decreases at extreme pressures. So that could be sort of a precursor to that. Obviously it's not melting, but the pressure is putting massive strain on the atomic bonds, causing a liquid/fabric like ripple effect that it has a similar looking state.
The scariest part is, our bodies, when faced by these forces and pressures, are no more of an impediment than a puff of vapour. Not even a water balloon, just a little cloud of steam.

I have a theory for the vapor puff out the front. I'm gonna guess that Scott mechanically pushed the squib into place (as opposed to actually under loading a round and banking on the squib getting stuck) so the squib wasn't fully engaged in the rifling, leaving just the tiniest gap around it. Then when the round when off, it created a piston that rapidly compressed the air in the barrel before the squib, causing the water vapor in the air to condense back into a liquid, along with any trace of oil left in the gun (which was likely brand new, guns are usually shipped with a thin film of oil to prevent rust)
I don't think he said that the .bolt rifle had a squib. Thanks slow mo guys and Kentucky ballistics for doing this.
Always happy to see UA-camrs collaborating. You don’t see creators of varying content meet up and help support one another as much as you used too!
I'd love to see you guys do more stuff with Scott, he's such a great guy overall and seemed genuinely interested in this video concept
Absolutely loved this collaboration with Scott. It’s what we had been hoping for and did not disappoint.
Scott gives the same vibes as that one British dude who witnessed the Blitz when he was a kid, and became an explosives expert out of sheer fascination.
I'm just glad he didn't get into gas masks & asking everyone if they're his "Mommy"
❤🤣
Please do more colabs with Kentucky Balistics. You guys would really compliment his series blowing up weapons lol we'd get to see them in ultra slo mo.
Compliment: praise.
Complement: complete.
The sheer amount of guns the guy has opens up so many opportunities for cool videos
It actually only just really dawned on me as I realized and thought about the accident when they mentioned it.
and having seen all the new content we've enjoyed since then...
I just wanna say:
Thank god we didn't lose Scott, we would have lost a good one and it would have been a tragedy imo.
Love your videos and your personality Scott, stay you man. You bring a smile to more people then you think!
Scott is such a great guy - it's awesome that you two did a collaboration !
Scott is about as nice as they come! Didn’t expect to see this collab from y’all but I’m glad it happened!
Thanks gentlemen for sharing this with us. It gives us a better understanding of what happens when you don’t respect firearms. From overloading or using the wrong gunpowder to squib loads. Always, always, always, always treat them with respect and caution. Best of 🍀luck to you and stay safe guys🇺🇸👍🏻❤️
The only problem with this channel is that no matter how fast the framerate is, you always want to see it faster.
Amazing video :)
Exactly lol I thought they were going to go all out. It was a bit disappointing tbh.
Scott is a really a nice guy when he does not play his role (in which he is amazing too!)
Fantastic collab! You all had great chemistry and Scott especially seems like a great guy. Cheers
Thank you for your loud noise warnings. I always appreciate them.
What an awesome collab!
Thanks for taking the trip Gav & Dan, always amazing to see these crazy things that everyone just assumes is instant broken down.
Scott, you are a madman....I love it!
It's weird to see Scott behaving like a normal human... 😂😁😜
But yeah, THAT was the collab we wanted. Because explosions are happening friggin fast... 😇
We definitely need more of this Collab.
Absolutely incredible the details your camera pick up that would otherwise be missed
Between this and the ballistic gel video I’m convinced this is the best collab
There getting closer to a Demolition ranch collaboration, nice vid guys with kentucky
This is great!! Love to see what Kentucky has been up to since the incident and really glad you guys were able to do a collab together!!! Makes me think we may get a Demo/Slow Mo collab one day. Either way, I look forward to more Kentucky collabs like this!!
I think we can all agree that cross-over videos are frikkin awesome. Especially when they happen to be two of your favorite channels!
Two of my favorite channels together. Thanks for doing this. Awesome collab, please do more
Man this is one of the best channel pair-ups ever. It's like you guys were made to collaborate with each other!
The fact that Scott is still here and watching guns blow up is extraordinary.
Scott is built different. Tanks a .50 cal explosion to the face, and makes videos about guns exploding.
Yall and KB are a match made in heaven. Hopefully there will be a lot more videos with yall 3
Ya know, it's honestly great to see the Slo Mo Guys and KB collab for a video because you know it'll be great
This is everything I'd hoped for and more! Thank you Scott, Dan and Gav!
This is one of those collabs that I never thought about but seems so obvious now that it's happened. Look forward to seeing y'all team up again!
Even if you are really not a gun nut, there is something wonderful about Scott and his channel, he has fun, puts on a show and fires absolute monsters
this Collab was an absolute blast to watch from both here and KentuckyBallistics side. look forward to whatever future collabs might bring.
The collab we didn't know we needed. This was a brilliant episode, and I wouldn't mind seeing how other pistol and rifle platforms react to spicy meatballs.
Love both the channels. Looking forward to more collabs. Let's get you guys doing stuff with all the Texas GunTubers too!
I love how Scott seems nervous like yall are celebrities
just got recommended his original explosion video the other day, watched the followups, and thought "this guy needs a slow-mo camera or eve better, a slow mo guys collab", and here it is a week later. You're welcome everyone for manifesting this amazing video!
I know most people who watch this video won’t think about this, but it’s nice to see you guys doing content with guns and gun-tubers. There’s such a negative stigma in the media today for something that shouldn’t be demonized and should be understood and respected instead. Love the channel, great video
I love that during the entire intro Gav looks like he has antlers... Probably my favorite part of any video... LOVE IT!
What are you on about?
@@skussy69 I'm not understanding your question... Are you asking about my comment or my UA-cam account?
@@asamateurasitgets514 he's asking what you meant by your initial comment
I love that it looked like he has antlers. Like deer… That’s it… pretty simple.
That had to be one hell of a reaction Scott had when he 1st saw a message from the slow mo guys. Even a super star like Will Smith seemed unusually geeked out working with Gav and Dan. Def YT legends now.
This is a collab I never saw coming, gonna enjoy it
11:11 I love the face of Scott when Gav says he is slowing doing every second to 2 hours.
It’s a free floating barrel 😂 love watching you guys now. Thanks Scott for having them on your channel. You guys are awesome
This is an extremely underrated comment... 10/10 pun
gives a good appreciation for how tough the mechanisms are.
I hope Scott furnished you lads with some fresh "Stick a Thumb in it!" Tees after the Kentucky Roulette session!! His survival was incredible. What's also awesome is the way the community pulled together and made content for Scott's channel while he was recovering.
This is one of the best collaborations on UA-cam I really hope the three of you work together in the future
I am one of the people who suggested this colaboration. Somehow It is fun and heartwarming to see people from such radically different cultures and mentalities come together in friendly cooperation. They have different senses of humor as well. So it is great seening people get along. It gives me hope for humanity.
We are all glad that Scott survived. He’s become a part of my weekly life pretty much I look forward to his videos every time he releases one. I love that dude.
The Slo Mo Guys and Scott at Kentucky Ballistics are two of my all time favorite channels. Awesome to see you all do a video together. Hope you guys can do it again sometime. Great stuff!
Probably one of the best colabs with a GunTuber in a really long while, thanks for doing this!
