Kind of an interesting thing, William Faulkner released a short story titled “A Rose for Emily” about a old woman that was shrouded in mystery and when she died all the townspeople looking through her house and finding she was sleeping with the corpse of a man(there is more to the story, definitely recommend only a few pages long). Then 1940 this guy was caught doing the same thing so kinda cool, only difference is the gender roles and I don’t think she had tried to preserve the corpse either
