I agree. I watch videos every year on and around the anniversary and it seems like each year I learn something more, and I was involved with intelligence agencies for a long time! Interesting. The big failure was the lack of communication between intelligence agencies, the FBI, local law enforcement and port authorities. As Andy Card said, we knew about these terrorists well ahead of time. They should have never been allowed to board those planes if the CIA and FBI were communicating like they should have been.

What rattles my mind to this day is just how quickly it all happened. When you think about 9/11 you think of it as if it were a whole day of events but literally every major event throughout the day happened over the course of about two hours. The hijacking of flight 11 began at 8:14 and the North Tower collapsed at 10:28. By that time all four planes had crashed. That’s literally the runtime of a movie. All of the images, lives lost, video clips, reaction, memories. All formed in a little over 2 hours. The fact that four planes were hijacked, crashes, and then both towers collapsing in that timeframe never fails to surprise me.

I was a freshman in college. My roommate and I were finishing eating breakfast when the first plane hit. We had time to walk from the dining hall in the basement to our room on the third floor, notice everyone on the floor had their doors open and their TV’s on, which… before 9am in a dorm room was really really weird. So we walked to our room, turned the TV on and sort of slowly sank onto one of the beds to watch the TV when the second plane hit. The pentagon was hit while I was walking to class but I didn’t know it until mom called me. (I’d had a cell phone for maybe two weeks, about how long we’d been at school.) I let everyone in class know what had happened and then left. I think by the time I got home the towers were gone. Then we spent the rest of the day keeping a friend whose father worked in the pentagon company while he waited for news. His dad wasn’t at the Pentagon that day, but cell networks were such a mess that it was that evening before he got word. I have pictures of us sort of celebrating my roommates birthday with cake that evening and we all look kinda zoned out and lost behind the smiles. It all happened so fast.

@@johne540 I Completely agree, I think there was loose change 2 and 3, I don't believe it was "An Inside Job" or both towers were brought down by a controlled demolition, a Controlled Demolition begins from the bottom up and we clearly see the top 30 or 40 floors of one tower collapse into the interior of the tower and that would be probably a 150.K tons fallen into the tower which was already weakened by the fires. I saw a good video "9/11 conspiracy road trip" 5 students from the UK travel to NYC and it's mainly about the towers brought down by explosives, They hear a man whose work was controlled demolition he had brought down over 1000 buildings by controlled demolition and he said "It couldn't be done" And made his point by asking how much explosives needed and the amount of workers to rig them and it all has to be done In secret, One guy believes him and says "I did believe it was a controlled demolition, but after listening to this man I am wrong" Another girl stops listening after about 6 secs, she just didn't want to hear him. And that told me she didn't want to believe what the man was saying.

But someone took my parking spot. A friend called me and said, "We're all waiting for you." I told him, "Someone took my private parking spot."
My husband came down to help me.
I was talking to one of my friends. When he said to me, a plane is coming towards us, what is happening.
That was the last time I heard his voice.
When my husband got close to my car, the first plane crashed into Windows on the World.
The noise was horrible. I got out of my car crying, and I wanted to go inside.
Because I couldn't believe that all my friends were dead.
My husband said, "We have to go. They're dead." I was in shock, and at that moment, the second plane hit the other tower.

Wow. This is an amazing way to create a documentary, especially of this event. Just let the story tell itself, without narrators or journalists cluttering things up and leading us by the nose to some conclusion. It's painfully immersive and far more effective at conveying the lived experience of so many people that day, including me, far away in Minnesota. This feels like the emotional equal of the Naudet brothers' film, which (for me at least) is saying an awful lot. This is how I hope history will be studied in the future - immersed in the events as they unfold, and not being told what to think about them. Congratulations on an amazing production, and my sincerest thanks for making it available for me to watch. I had never heard of an observational documentary before, and now I have a new preferred form of learning from media.

Yup. I was in 3rd grade. I remember everything about that day but I also remember not caring because I didn’t understand. My brain couldn’t comprehend one death, let alone thousands of people dying in those buildings…. I had never even heard about the World Trade Center towers. As the months and years went on I became pretty infatuated with it. I remember going to my grandma’s house and we were watching the news that day. I remember my dad being scared of tall hotels after that. I remember my first flight in 2003 where the security was so tight and my parents were shocked by how much security had changed since 9/11. I never knew what it was like to fly before it though

You mean the phone calls that weren't possible if the plane were in flight at 35k?
You mean the phone calls that had ZERO noise from the engines of the plane?
You mean the phone calls made by Betty Ong who said the hijacker was standing on stairs on a plane that HAS NO stairs!
You mean the phone calls that lasted 5 10 15 20 plus minutes and the hijackers were quiet and didn't say a thing about getting off the phones
You mean the phone calls that were made because the hijackers just without possible reason ALLOWED PEOPLE TO CALL AND BE ON THEIR PHONES??
You mean the phone calls made especially by stewardesses that NEVER said how the hijackers got into the flight cabin? Because you do know that the pilot would NEVER open that cabin door in a hijacking. Even if they kill everybody on board.
You mean the phones from the planes which NEVER sent out a signal of any kind in any manner to flight control that a hijackers was onboard?
You mean the phone calls that were made on the ground. Because those calls were physically impossible to be made in flight. That means ALL WERE MADE ON THE GROUND after they landed. That means those people WERE NOT ON THOSE PLANES THAT HIT THE TOWERS!!
You mean through phone calls made by pro pilots and airline workers who said they think they were somewhere over Ohio just minutes before the planes hit the towers. Yes. They THOUGHT they were over fields of farmland and not in Manhattan. Somehow they thought tall skyscrapers and farms look alike. People who fly in planes for a living.
You mean the phone calls that were being made by people as the planes hit the towers. You know. The planes traveling well over 2x the max velocity those planes can flu at sea level without suffering major structural damage. Not a single caller made mention of the plane shaking or anything.
You keep on thinking those calls were made on those planes at those altitudes and I got a bridge to sell ya.

@DS94everXev Wow, you really ARE that stoopid.
      1. "The first is that GTE Airfone systems were common then. Of the 37 phone calls placed from flight 93, 35 were placed on the Airfone system. This was traceable not only to the particular aircraft, but to a specific phone in a specific row on that aircraft"
      2. I've flown many times and I never hear the engines while in flight, only on take off and landing.
      3. Have you ever heard of someone misspeaking? Especially since people can't even spell a simple word like lose, they call it a "typo"
      4. Have you ever thought they didn't care if people were on their phones, and besides I think they cared more about what they were going to do then people being on their phones.
      5. See #4
      6. It doesn't matter how they got in the cabin, they're not going to be like, "OK, one guy had a skroodriver and he started to unskroo the skroos, he handed them to someone else who was standing there, and they gently opened the cabin door" No, they yanked open the door, those doors aren't exactly sturdy. (Sorry snowflakes, didn't mean to offend you)
7.The only signals you know about are the ones you receive on your tin foil hat. Phones don't send out signals to flight control.
      8, See #1
      9. Pro pilots? What's a pro pilot? And have you ever thought they were more concerned with terrorists trying to break down their door then they were about where they were? And have you ever thought the flight attendants didn't look out the windows, oh, wait, I asked if you thought, obviously you don't. (Oops, I should have looked first, but my comment still stands. "9:28: Flight 93 is hijacked above northern Ohio, turning to the southeast"
      10. First, if they were doing twice the capability of the plane, the plane would have broken apart, instead, here is how fast a Boeing 767 flies, "What is the cruising speed of a 767?" "529 mph Boeing 767 / Cruise speed"
"8:46:[a] Flight 11 crashes almost directly midway into the North Tower's central core at roughly 440 miles per hour (710 km/h; 200 m/s; 380 kn),[24] striking the center of the north face between floors 93 and 99"

I was was 20 years old and lived just outside Washington when this happened. I worked at a kiosk in a mall and was on a phone meeting first thing in the morning. Someone beeped in on the call twice, and I knew it was my mother. She knew I would be in the meeting and she only would have called twice if it was an emergency. It was just after the second plane hit when I answered her call and she told me about WTC. I ran down to the radio shack, the only store in the mall that had televisions in those days, it was still locked, but other opening managers were starting to gather around. The opener for the radio shack showed up and turned on the TV’s and we all just stood there in shock as this whole horror story unraveled. Then the pentagon was hit. I remember going back to the kiosk and shutting it down, two older ladies walked up to shop and I looked at them and said “We are under attack” I could give an account of every minute of that day.

Correct! All indicates it was an inside job. It’s was a controlled demolition. Not even mentioning that the 2 other “airplanes” Pennsylvania and the Pentagon were not airplanes. @@davidparker9676it makes perfect sense when you know how those buildings were constructed, and the materials used. The interior was designed with minimal walls, so there was a lot of free space. This meant that the ensuing fire could spread easily, but was also the reason the towers collapsed so quickly and cleanly, as though it were a controlled demolition. The Pentagon, for me, was the one I still have trouble with. The camera caught the explosion, but I have never actually seen what hit it. Also, it seemed to be the only footage of the "impact" that anyone saw. You'd think there were cameras everywhere around the Pentagon, and that there would have been other vantage points.

    • @davidparker9676
      @davidparker9676 Рік тому

@@deathbycheese850 The towers were designed to survive commercial jet plane impacts. Jet fuel is basically kerosene or diesel, neither of which burn very hot... at least not hot enough to melt structural steel. There are thousands of engineers and scientists that have signed a petition for a scientific analysis of the crashes and damage. They know that many of the "facts" in the official report are impossible and defy physics.
Look up how many structural steel buildings have collapsed from fires both before and after 9/11, there aren't any. Structural steel buildings do not collapse in freefall as these did without significant help from cutting and explosives. (controlled demolition)
For the sake of argument, if the jet fuel did weaken the steel , the structure would have tipped over at the site of the impact and fire. There is no possible way to have a 110 story structural steel building collapse straight down into its own footprint without controlled demolition. Building 7 makes the least sense of all of them.
The crater in the field had no debris from a plane, the pentagon also was missing damage from the jet engines, not to mention only having a few frames of video. The pentagon is surrounded by cameras and all they can show us is a couple grainy frames with a plane?
It is worth investigating further. I know you will change your mind when you see the evidence.

She couldn’t get home for three days and it took me that long to get through to her by phone.

Breaks my heart all those families that was torn to pieces by such callous acts 💔 I will never ever forget the date of 11.09.01. I send so much love and healing to all affected by this! ❤️

About a month before 9/11, sometime at the end of August, my parents were in Boston for the weekend and they were staying in a hotel. They found out later that men involved in the hijacking were staying in that same hotel and at the same time my parents were staying there. That was crazy to think that weeks later, they would be responsible for these devastating events.

22 years later this still physically turns my stomach. I will never forget exactly where i was and what i was doing the moment I heard the first news broadcast. My cousins were working in NYC that day. (Elevator industry) Phones were completely jammed, no way to know anything except from the news casts. It was crippling. I have always had mixed emotions regarding, not only the incident but the response. I never bought the explanation of all three buildings going down exactly the same. The two that got hit, highly doubtful but maybe. The third, no way. The FAA grounded all flights but allowed the Saudi Royal family to fly out. Not suspicious at all. The only plane allowed in the sky (other than military) transported out the leaders of the same country as the hijackers. At first, i thought the US response should have been to turn their desert to glass and part of me often feels that way but the what seems to be closer to the truth is that it was a joint venture conceived by both foreign and domestic bad actors. What I don't understand is just how so little could have come from such a horrific incident in the terms of knowledge, confirmation and execution of bringing anyone and everyone involved on any level to some type of justice. Evidence points to our military response was misdirected to settle an old grievance rather than punish guilty parties involved. That being said, with all of the stuff our government is doing today, right before our eyes, with little attempt to hide their wrong doings, I'm beginning to feel that the lions share of that 9/11 plot was quite possibly planned domestically. Today, with all of the people being allowed and encouraged to illegally cross our borders, the admission that there are countless numbers that we have no way to identify or track and the admission that we have identified many already on our countries watch lists, would anyone be surprised if another 9/11 level event is already in the planning stage? They said that this was the most deadly terrorist attack in history and yet 22 years later, our government makes us, show multiple forms of identification, remove our shoes and dispose of liquids before flying but yet they have allowed roughly 7 million unidentifiable, untraceable, illegals breach our boarders over the last few years. I am sad to say that things in our country are most likely going to get far worse before they get better. (If they ever get better.) In the future, I hope people will use their votes and their voices carefully, considering policies and the effects that they will have on the country and its citizens. There will never be any such thing as a perfect politician but people need to put aside their feelings for the person and focus on that persons ability to improve the quality of life, our safety, the prosperity of we the people. There will always be give and take. Then we need to hold our officials the highest standard and be willing and able to punish and remove them if they are not performing their duties to our satisfaction. Never be afraid to protect yourself, your family, your neighbors, your local businesses and if the people in charge wont help, vote them out. America is at a pivotal point. If we the people don't start being nicer to each other and start working together against corrupt government and the elite class, we will eventually be sorry and by then it will be too late to reverse course. Make an effort to be a better person, be a part of the solution, not a part of the problem.

As soon as I placed her in her baby rocker, I received a frantic call from my mother telling me to turn on the news. When I did, the 2nd plane was hitting the South Tower. I remember my city (Pittsburgh) being shut down due to the Flight 93 crash in Shanksville. I sat in shock for what felt like hours and still in shock 22 years later. @@goldbean3491 I woke up in time to see the 2nd tower collapse. Only once in my life have I had this conversation: My roommate wakes up. "Turn on your TV," I said. "Which channel?" he asked. ""It doesn't matter." We had I think 67 channels of cable TV at the time - a nice package at the time, and the only channel that wasn't covering the attacks was (thankfully) a children's channel, which had decided that children needed something non-traumatizing to watch. MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, the fucking WEATHER CHANNEL, every channel was covering the attacks that day. In the US, we knew we were living in a different and much worse reality. In that way, the terrorists scored a victory.

@@goldbean3491 same here. I was in my early 20s, at work. We didn’t have a TV, just the radio on with music. I was at my desk and heard some news about an accident in NY. They stopped the music and all they talked about was that. They continued on talking about it, about a plane, then later, about a second plane hitting the towers. I called my mom who was at home from working the night shift and told her to turn on the tv and see what was going on so I would know more. She could not believe it. She said everything was in smoke, people screaming, running…etc. Huge holes in the towers with fire and smoke coming out. Then she said the tower collapsed all in a panic. I was in shock. Shortly after, I heard they had plans to evacuate some buildings here in Canada because it was a terrorist attack in NY (although I’m not sure this happened). When I went home, every station on tv talked about this and nothing else. There were news about the Pentagon as well and another plane crashing into a field. It was surreal. Even though I have no ties to this event, nor do I know people who were affected by this personally, it left a huge impact on me and after all these years, I still think about it often and all the people who lost their lives in such horrific ways.

People my age are pretty much the youngest group to remember 9/11 at all. I was almost 6, so I remember that day (even if I didn't understand exactly), but it really stuns me when I remember that everyone younger than me - everyone under 27-28 - has no memory of it. Soon the only people who will remember it will be over 30. My younger sister by two years doesn't remember.
We were many states away, but we caught the news early enough that we saw the towers fall live. In my memories, the TV seemed huge, but it couldn't have been more than 2 feet wide in reality. My mom was stunned, and my sister and I stood close to the TV shouting "The building is falling down! The building is falling down!" I understood what I was seeing, and that many people were dying, but I didn't realize how unprecedented it was. For many years after that, every time we stayed in a hotel with more than two floors, I would lie awake fearing that the building would collapse under me, or that the floors above me would crush me. My sister tells me she never worried about that, which makes sense if 9/11 didn't create memories for her.
There were some drawings that my parents scanned, which I don't remember drawing. I need to find them again. I drew them probably within a few days of 9/11. They are very childish, which almost makes them more upsetting, because I drew tall buildings on fire, people falling from them, firefighters, and people crying. I know I'm rambling about all this, but I think the point is, if you're younger and trying to learn about 9/11, an important facet is that the event hit everyone to some degree. All around the world people were affected, politics changed, wars happened. Even people like me, a little kid who had never even visited NYC at that point, felt the shockwave.

It’s a personal journey he and his immediate family know abt, but he’s doing okay now. Ik he still struggles but he’s doing much better. As soon as the events of that morning were confirmed we were dismissed from work and told to go straight home, to get out of the Harrisburg government area and dont come back. My drive home was all of 10 minutes given the traffic and all. I spent the rest of the day watching news reports. It was a very unnerving and shocking day.

  • @bbqbiscuit
    @bbqbiscuit 6 місяців тому +11

I think one of the reasons so much misinformation still circulates about this day and these events is because of the fact that it was being reported on as it was happening, without anyone really knowing what was going on. Anchors, new broadcasters, field reporters, and journalists had to make realistic comparisons without knowing exactly what was causing anything. Even when the coverage began, people were confused about what had happened -- they didn't have the knowledge right away that a commercial jet had flown into the first tower -- the only reason they knew right away what happened to the second was because of the amount of cameras on the towers at the time. People also love a conspiracy theory. It doesn't matter what evidence is presented, or who presents it, if you can twist it around and make a conspiracy out of it, people will. Nearly 3,000 people died that day, plus the firefighters and civilians who died later as a result of cancer or other illness created by the carcinogenic gasses coming off the buildings during the initial evacuation. A plane flew into a building. It collapsed due to severe structural damage caused by a Boeing 767 flying into the support pillars in the building. Sorry, but I wasn't aware buildings were made to withstand full-size jets flying into the side of them.
