Supply and demand. If supply is low and the demand is high, prices will soar!! I think vintage toys go through phases. I agree with you, when people hit their mid-thirties, they start having that nostalgia and they have the money to find and buy them. I know that is when it started for me and when it started for our oldest son. Great video, like 11, thanks for sharing!

Great discussion. Modern toys are way different and some include lots of accessories but that then drives the retail price too high in my opinion. Scalpers are a big problem with modern toys/collectibles causing the prices to go nuts on eBay. But also why do the companies do only limited quantities so often?? That enables scalpers to prosper. I don’t get it. I think a lot of vintage sit around unsold because the people selling them want a certain price and won’t budge. Lots of them are “buy it now” and not auctions. Mate, awesome video! Really I mean it, very thought provoking, interesting and from the heart, man I wish I could make videos this good! Personally I will always be into the retro toys (I guess the clue is in the name 😁) but sometimes the modern day toys just manage to tap my nostalgia nerve and I end up buying them, but only if I can get them for a good price (yes I'm talking bargain bin items) normally I find these some where in the wild. I would never sell my vintage toys to buy modern. Thanks again for the great video, keep up the good work my friend 😀 👍

One thing I failed to mention is the fact that I go to a lot of toy shows and lately I’ve seen more modern stuff then anything . One dealer told me it’s easier for him to sell the modern stuff . I would never sell my vintage stuff either . Worked to hard to get where I am at lol . In fact , if I do get rid of anything , it would be modern . Appreciate your constant support my good amigo !!
That old preceptor face is cool but the cartoon defined perceptors face for me. I love the 80s toys so much but man, the breaking or no longer turning at all. I have to stay away from almost all new ones. Prices and bad qualities. At least for what I can usually afford.
I agree ! It’s seems like they put more passion and work into the original box art . I still find myself just hypnotized , in ah , of the box art of the 80’s toys . That’s why when I can , I try to find figures with their original boxes .

I have to wonder what kids do find interesting about toys. My grandson always goes for the originals. Not the newer stuff.
