Ο Οζνίλ Ναμί ήταν ο βασικός διαπραγματευτής των Τουρκοκυπρίων για το Κυπριακό στον Κραν Μοντανά το 2017. No Cypriot president has ever rejected, nor will ever reject, a solution that aligns with the UN Charter and resolutions, enabling the implementation of the EU acquis in the occupied areas of the island.

In Cyprus the Turkish Cypriot minority demands POLITICAL EQUALITY (i.e. VETO) and the legitimization of an ARTIFICIAL ZONE (created by the illegal invasion) for the Turkish Cypriot minority community. Which country anywhere would accept such demands for its large minorities? It is also important to understand the majority of Turkish Cypriots are living in the homes of Christians who were forced out in 1974. Turkish Cypriots NEVER in their brief presence on the island were the majority in any of its districts. They make ludicrous demands with a soft voice. Would Mr. Nami be happy with the rights the 20+ million Kurdish minority enjoys in Turkey?

Two states. North Cyprus occupies half of its current territory because in 1974 Turkish Cypriots were 18.2% of the island’s population. Then, in 5 years ask both states if they want to become one and hold referendum in both. I have a good idea of how the referenda will go but let the people decide

The whole issue can turn out terribly for Greeks (Cypriots included of course) if we don't listen carefully to what they are telling us. They are trying to mislead people with words.

...let's remember the larger half if you will, Cypriots. BBF solution for Cyprus was a compromise for both sides. GC wanted enosis , TC wanted taksim. So its wrong to start a new effort having in mind that will end with BBF or taksim!!! If TC doesnt agree on BBF anymore it is another story.

You are wrong there is definitely a Cypriot Identity. Mainland Turks and Turkish Cypriots are not the same. Many TC are descended from Greek converts to Islam. They are Muslim and speak mainly Turkish other than that they are culturally Cypriot in their ethics, mentality , way of life, music , food etc.
Sit at a meal with a TC and apart from some uneasy fear of being the minority due our recent past you will find it a pleasant experience.
We need to build trust to get over the recent history because before that from all accounts there was no notion of them and us.
I do not think majority want to be part of Turkey they want a unified Island but they have reservations.
The Annan plan ( i believe not 100% sure) said only 20% of norths population could be Greek which I was opposed to at the time. However, I now believe it is the correct way to go for at least 20 years then it can be relaxed.
This would allow the TC time to adjust build their economy and build trust for both sides.
The real issues are no foreign armies or interference no guarantors and what to do about the settlers who have married a Cypriot. All others must return to Turkey. Plus the property issues which will need some compromise or nothing will get sorted and that is the price of unity.
The longer this goes on the Turkish Cypriots will become extinct in the North

1571 ήρθαν στην Κύπρο εκατοντάδες Οθωμανοί στρατιώτες σε ενα μικρό νησί.
Είχαν 60000 "μάρτυρες" και άλλους 40000 " μάρτυρες" στις πολοορκίες της Λευκωσίας λαι Αμμοχώστου αντίστοιχα. Τους κάλεσε κανένας? Όχι, ήρθαν για να λεηλατησουν, να βιάσουν, να εξισλαμήσουν το νησί διά πυρός και σιδήρου!!! Ανάγκασαν ένα 18% των κατοίκων να αλλάξουν την πίστη τους, για να μην πληρώνουν τον κεφαλικό φόρο,δηλ. τους απογόνους των σημερινών Τουρκοκυπρίων. Πούλησαν την Κύπρο στν Αγγλία και μετά πάλι νέα εισβολή, έκαναν εθνοκάθαρση αυτοί οι καλοί ανθρώποι οι Τούρκοι. Αυτοί που τις δικές τους μειονότητες τις κατάσφαξαν, τους Κούρδους δεν τους αφήνουν να κάνουν δικό τους κράτος, κάνουν εισβολή στην Συρία( κόβουν τις ελειές των κατοίκων για να τους αναγκάσουν να φύγουν από τις εστίες τους και θα τους αντικαταστήσουν με γύφτομόγγολους της Ανατολίας)!!! They couldn't control the situation so they called on the Egyptians to help them and they still lost.
