About Pai:
Pailin “Pai” Chongchitnant is the author of the Hot Thai Kitchen cookbook, co-host of a Canadian TV series One World Kitchen on Gusto TV, and creator and host of the UA-cam channel Pailin's Kitchen.
Pai was born and raised in southern Thailand where she spent much of her "playtime" in the kitchen. She traveled to Canada to study Nutritional Sciences at the University of British Columbia, and was later trained as a chef at Le Cordon Bleu culinary school in San Francisco.
After working in both Western and Thai professional kitchens, she decided that her passion really lies in educating and empowering others to cook at home via UA-cam videos, her cookbook, and cooking classes. I served this to a couple of my kids tonight. They (and I) were just wowed. My son in law told me that I could serve this any time that I wanted. Beyond wonderful!
In Corpus Christi Texas I have a favorite Vietnamese restaurant that makes something very similar to this using broccoli. I have been searching for the recipe for years - absolutely one of the best asian dishes I have ever had. They serve it with a perfectly balanced and light dipping sauce. Thanks you for sharing your awesome knowledge and expertise - my go to for Thai cuisine.
YUM! This was so good! Instead of using the oven, I air fried the cauliflower for about 10-15 min at 390°F, shook the basket a few times, and they browned just right. Next time I will use a little less salt or soy sauce, but the flavor was so good it sure made the rice disappear fast! Thank you Pailin for such an innovative dish!

Fried cauliflower is one of the tastiest things on earth.
I love cauliflower. I regularly make a roasted cauliflower soup. It is to die for. There are so many ways of utilising this wonderful vegetable but it’s always great to find yet another way and this sounds like a definite goer. Can’t wait to try it. 🤤

Cool, the only way I eat cauliflower is to stir-fry it too. Tried making a salad out of it few days back but didn't turn out too well, your video came at the right time. Would try it tonight.

Made it as one of the dishes for dinner last night. My wife and I really enjoyed it. I think the five-spice goes well with the cauliflower. My oven only goes up to 420F so it took longer than 15 minutes to get a good caramelization on the cauliflower. As a result the cauliflower was a bit overcooked (I don't like mushy overcooked veggies). I'll need to figure out how to address this problem but the flavours were good and I will definitely make this again.

Pailin, Thank you so much for this recipe. I just cooked it for the first time tonight and it was an amazing explosion of flavor! Personally, I like cauliflower, but even so I have always thought it a bit bland both flavor and color-wise. This dish transforms it into something totally new. Wish I had a picture of my daughter's face when she first tasted it. This will be made often in my house!

In the netherlands we usually cook the cauliflower en add afterwards nutmeg over them. I dont like them that way but the way you made them seems really yummy to be honest .

+Shawn McGuire Hi Shawn, if you can get true cinnamon it would be a bonus but because it's mixed in with other spices it's not a big deal.

I roasted the cauliflower a little too long I believe...they were slightly soft after everything was done but still very good and easy to chew

Does anyone know what type of soy sauce she’s using for this recipe? I know Pai has a video on the different soy sauces and just wanted to know which soy sauce is best (black, white, etc.)
I don't know sorry - she tends to prep beforehand and I didn't see the bottle. (There are 3 or 4 in the fridge.) Am going to see if I can find out :)
