How much work are you willing to put in practicing?
Do you just want to grab an instrument and start jamming with other muscians immediately?
Or perhaps you are prepared to put in serious hours getting your technique locked and your skills ready before you move forward... neither option is right or wrong. Just be honest with yourself about your goals..
Maybe it is just about being part of a group of people, joing a band, the social aspect and you are less interested in exactly what style of music you make.
What stage are you at?
Are you a total beginner who plays no instruments?
Perhaps you already play an instrument but you want to learn something else..
If you want to write, create, record and perform music, then becoming proficient in as many instruments as possible is always something to aim for.
