I was watching a movie last night and it just faded to black. Still has normal sound. I've tried unplugging, the power reset, unplugging and switching the hdmi's... nothing. When I turn it on, the Insignia flashes on the screen for a second then goes black again 🤷♀️

Mine does the same but I can see what displays if I looked at it from the bottom or I was very close to it so I clicked the menu button and adjusted the picture values, I decreased the the backlight ,brightness , sharpness ..etc and it works
None of these worked but I’m not convinced the TV is broken. I was using it fine, it was on the screensaver then I just turned the tv off took a shower and it wouldn’t turn back on. The power light seems to work but nothing happens
My TV turns on and the interface works, but as soon as you switch to an HDMI device or try to play a video on one of the apps it wont show anything. HDMI just stays black and the app videos just dont load

No go. Tried then all and when I power up I see my home screen for a flash, and then it's black. I can still use the remote to toggle around and there's sound, so it's gotta be something wrong with the display.

Will the 3rd method of unplugging & holding down power button do a hard reset of my TV? After pricing getting mine fixed, heck even just for them to look at it, it just wasn't cost worthy. However, they did offer me 50 bucks for my old TV but all my data is obviously stored on there but since my screen is black, I can't obviously do a hard reset by way of remote. So I'm trying to find a way to hard reset for security purposes. Mine had sound, but black screen, & after performing all simple tests & ideas... I'm petty sure it's the backlight... probably why they want it for extra parts that are actually still good. But hey, any little bit helps to go to the purchase of new TV but just don't want all my data floating around out there. Any suggestions on hard reset when you can't see your screen? Lol! I've tried every single method to no avail. What happens is, turning on TV causes screen to show bright image for millisecond. Then resumes in dark image (need to use flashlight to see anything on screen), and sound is on. I've tried taking out cables and putting back in. I've unplugged TV for over two hours. Mine is doing the same thing. I went to Best Buy and one of the kids working there told me that it happens a lot and that he tells people not to buy them. He said that Best Buy has a higher profit margin on Insigna so the salespeople are told to push them. I was about to buy a Sony when the kid's supervisor came over and started telling what a great deal the Insigna was. I told him that I had heard that their screens go blank and he said that he hadn't heard of that. I thanked the kid for his time and walked out.
Purchased the 55inch 4k insignia TV October 2020 on sale via Amazon through Best Buy and November 2021 the picture went out. I have sound but no picture. Of course the 30 day and 1 year warranty can't be leveraged and Best Buy told me to kick rocks. This brand isn't reliable.

You might be a God! I had something happen to my ps5 thought it was it going on the fritz and was sooo mad till I thought maybe the tv! Followed your steps and BAM!
Mine is screen jumping non stop. I have tried all these methods besides a factory reset. I dont remember my passwords for all the apps. Ugh. So frustrating. Tv is only 3 yrs old tops.
@@JuanCamacho21 you know what fixed it for me!?! I had a usb cable plugged in to power a firestick and it apparently was a problem/shirt with the usb port. I unplugged the usb cable and the screen came back on!
This recommends that if all power components are connected properly, and the TV doesn't work, then buy a new TV. This is the most moronic advice I've ever encountered.
TV is powering on, screen is black. If I leave it on like that for a while, turn it off and then back on, it comes on like it's fine. Sound works, but black screen. Csn this be fixed with the reset trick?

I had a similar issue and wanted to post it just in case it helps someone. My tv would come on and you could go to the different apps and air antenna like normal and have the tv guide up then select a channel to watch "Then it would go black with no sound"....the unplug from the wall for 60 seconds and then plug back in worked for my issue...all good now.
I don't know how it happened but my menu is now very small i can barely see ! Its the same for the sounds and when I have to choose : hdmi hdmi 2 ...HELP !

I have an older Insignia 65 inch. Red indicator light is on. TV will try to boot and get to the Insignia screen and maybe a half second later the screen goes all black. Tried all of the unplugging and replacing batteries. Any other suggestions. I've considered opening to see if any fuses were blown. Did that before on the tube TV's but never tried to open a flat
@@SC-lc7tm I fixed my TV. The LED strips needed replacing. Each strip had 6 lights I think and it was 12 strips. So out of 72 lights ONE was bad! I was told to replace them all at once so I did. I ordered a led tester on Amazon for about 20 dollars and I got the big suction cups with the handles to take the screen off. I used that stuff for this repair and returned them. I got in contact with a shop and they told me to trash my TV and it wasn't worth repairing. I paid about 75 for the LED strips and I had to buy double sided tape to hold them in place. TV works like it use too. For me it was worth it. I gave a big screen to Goodwill many yrs ago because it went bad and the shop said it needed some kind of special part. When this one went bad I told my boys if I ended up having to do that again I'm busting the screen. Nobody is gonna easy fix my TV for themselves so I figured I'd try to fix it and if it didn't work then I'd make sure it never worked again. Repair was kinda easy. Just have to be really careful with the main screen and keep the secondary screens in order. Good luck.
I unplugged my TV then pushed power button in for 1 minute. While holding the power button in I plugged TV back in...... Works good as new. Thanks. Just saved 200 dollars.

Hey, I have an insignia fire tv. None of these methods worked for me after trying for 3 hours 48 minutes with chat support on Amazon. But I eventually gave up with all the reps that were coming into the chat and dropping right back out trying to what they say when my screen is BLACK. I spent 3 seconds on the phone with a rep named Mario and I’m back baby. If you have a fire tv and the remote it came with, here is what you can try and hopefully it helps you. Press and hold the curved back arrow button and the right side of the circled directional pad for about 20 seconds until it says factory reset and click ok. Go through the motions, log back in and boom, you are back too baby!! Let me know if it helped you. I just got off the phone and I’m watching what I want!! So happy 😊😊😎 if you need more descriptive identifying info on which button I will do my best bc I suck at giving details. But I’m sure it will work for you if you have the fire tv with remote. 💪🏽
I did exactly as you suggested and barely saw the TV logo after doing it. Now it's making a ring/bing noise? I'm not too sure how to explain it. Thank you so much for the suggestion.

You need to contact amazon tech support, it worked instantly for me, i wish i could send you a picture of the buttons to press, if its the fire tv remote. It worked instantly, it factory reset my tv and it took about 20 minutes for it to go through the whole reset process and i am watching my tv as normal. Like it never had a black screen ever! i am so sorry it did not work and/or made things worse. I hope somewhere someone has the solution to fix your tv.

There is a difference between a black screen and no power. You're trying to troubleshoot "No power" issues.

I unplugged mine what you need to so as hold the power button down for 60 seconds and its came back on good luck.

Yea im assuming the "flashing insignia' super quick then straight black means its shot? A little pissed at myself bought at garage sale w/o checking!

Black screen is different from not turning on... Sound works no lights.
