This isn’t working for me. It still says that data could be corrupt and I don’t have insignia Fire TV. I have insignia smart TV. I know that’s not the same and it reads error with the picture of a like a cartoon picture. Looks like a yellow robot laying on its back I don’t know anything about this stuff. I feel like a dumb idiot right now, but I’m really not.

Very well done! I'm going to send this link to the Insignia person who tried to assist me. In my case, the remote still won't pair after all of that, but power/volume/back buttons work. "Searching for your remote" is as far as I get. Replaced the remote, new batteries :( You mentioned you might have another solution for that?

I couldnt pair it with the fire tv controller i bought from best buy. It seems to work scrolling up and down and the volume but i can't get pass by serching remote
This is actually a problem that a lot of people have. Here's what i did. If your remote has alexa or the "search button then you're gonna wanna press that. It will take you to an app Downloader. You type "settings shortcut". It's gonna show you an app and you download. Wait for it to download and install then you click on it. Once it's done it should take you to the settings. You click on profile and you just need to click on your previous profile. Once that's done it will ask you to load all previously downloaded apps and saved wifi to the fire tv. And just like that it should start working. Atleast that's what worked for me. If you can't connect to the wifi I would suggest connecting an ethernet cable to the TV.
Just to echo everyone else, this video was a lifesaver. Brand New TV out of the box and the remote wouldn't pair no matter what I did. I followed this video and remote instantly connected. Thank you!

1-10-24🎉😂 💃🏽Thank you, Thank! I was going to toss my TV. I had tried everything to include leaving it unplugged for weeks. Searched for a new video today for the heck of it & found his for the 1st time!! He says unplug TV. Continue to hold the power button as you REPLUG the TV. As soon as you see the fire TV screen logo let the power button GO! If you don't see the reset screen continue to try! It worked the second time because I let the power button go early enough. (This is different from all the OTHER instructions that say continue to hold the power button until the TV turns back on.) After the factory reset. The TV asked if I wanted to use my phone or remote to finish. It took two tries because my Internet is slow. Thankfully, my Amazon settings allowed me to restore everything on the TV💃🏽!💯
Thank you for the instructions on resetting the Insignia FireTv. Worked and now I can't get past the Choose Your Language menu. The new firestick will not pair. It is only a firestick. Do you I need to get that little black box too, even though it is a smart tv?

My line never turned green. And the list of stuff under the group you were using to ‘wipe’ and ‘reset’ was so long you could scroll past the bottom! But I did get to the home button part of the instructions and holding that home button did nothing. Can’t get past this screen!! I held for 10, 30, even a minute…nothing. Even constant tapping did nothing. Got any other ideas?

Nope. Not working. I’ve done this 6 times at this point. It comes back on but doesn’t go to factory reset menu. It takes me to the direct menu but I still can’t operate anything.

@@superseriooffical7314 Yep! Press and Hold the LEFT button, the BACK ARROW button and the MENU button(the one with the 3 lines). Hold them all down at the same time for 10 seconds. It will reset your remote. Then you can immediately start using your remote again. No need to turn it off and back on or any of that.

I have a universal remote that connected to the tv. However the screen after you chose the language, says “searching for your remote” and I can’t get past that point. Any suggestions??

I got to the pick the language screen and my remote worked but then it took me to a screen were it says searching for remote. It will not allow me to go anywhere else.

Will this work with the replacement remotes that claim they will NOT work for setup? They say you need the original remote for some reason.
I'm having the same issue. I have a replacement remote that worked fine until I had to factory reset, now it won't pair even after resetting the remote itself, the TV, and trying other replacement remotes. So frustrating that what was a perfectly functioning TV just a few days ago is now bricked and might need to be replaced.

Just used this on my Uncles brand new cheap TV and it worked. Out of the box it didnt work, but I was able to reset with these steps.
