You don't give yourself enough credit!! You definitely know what you are doing! I'm probably your mom's age... That said, I did none of this postpartum stuff ( had not bought anything and was pretty much clueless...I came home from the hospital and thought, "what's dermplast?! But, soon figured it all out. I guess that's how it was in '97...) I mean seriously, I was even a full-time nanny at the time, a graduate in childhood development & psychology, and well, this stuff was just not common to know and do. I just had the book, "What To Expect While You're Expecting," & a few others😉 It does seem convenient to have those baskets with necessities! People are just more schooled in these areas, now. I bet your mom might agree?
I DID have the bassinet set-up like that though😊 Wow what it would have been like to have had Amazon back then.
You are doing awesome, and other first time mom's could learn so much just by using your vids as reference. Wishing you ALL the best!! ( Is Bucky feeling left out yet? ) heehee

"I want to miminize postpartum on anyone coming to stay with us".... Mama! This should be the other way around! If people are coming to stay with you after baby's here, THEY should help you minimize post-partum! Of course they can't help with glorious stuff that's happening to you "down there" but for the rest, postpartum is a real adjustment they should be helping you with! 😘😘

As a mom of 5 I always had a caddy next to my bed with a foldable mat in that I could just through on the bed and change baby. That was the easiest and meant I didn't have to get up and baby had minimal movement etc in the middle of the night. I kept my change pad in the nursery as I loved making her/his room part of our daily routine. We would dress baby there during the day, play on the mat there, read books etc and enjoy the space we spent so much time decorating. I think you are doing an awesome job and all your ideas are going to benefit you hugely.

I use one of the uglier swaddle blankets we got as gifts and hand-me-downs. Just lay it at the foot of the bed while your sleeping. Baby wakes up. Change. Feed. Sleep. Boom 💥

We want to start trying for a baby in around a year, so I love watching these for the future. I’m excited to see most needed items, what you wish you had, etc.!

Definitely just change her in your bed! You probably won’t wanna get up and walk to a different spot in the middle of the night. I’ve always used a small travel changing pad that folds up and works for changing on the bed! But looks great mama! Every mom and baby is different in a system and organization that works for them. There’s lots of learning as you go those first few weeks. But looks like you’re as prepared as possible!

I would just use a changing mat to use on your bed because you’re not gonna want to get out of bed every time to change diapers. Personally that’s what worked for me and made diaper changes super quick in the middle of the night.

I would put your changing pad in your room, or have another changing mat handy, since baby girl will need diaper changes in the middle of the night and you may not want to go back and forth to the nursery to change her diaper! I know some people just use a gathre mat or something on their bed if you want to leave your changing mat in the nursery. Congrats on baby girl coming!

Thank you Carly! I think I'm going to leave the big changing pad in her nursery since the dresser is on the opposite side of our room and then I'll keep a changing mat right next to me and baby girl. Thanks for the tip :)

Love your nesting videos! Had my second a month ago and I could definitely recommend getting ice packs for your recovery. I didn’t have them with my first and using them in the first few days after the hospital made a world of a difference!

In my opinion all the late night diaper changes are going to end up happening on your bed anyways so leave the keekaroo pad in her nursery and just have extra swaddles by your bed to lay down for messy changes! 💗

I put the nose suckers close by because as a newborn they choke on the fluids first couple days, And you have to suck it out of the mouth to help them sometimes at least all three of my babies did

If these are still available I used small water proof lap pads for the supper soaker. I used them everywhere I laid the baby.

  • @kristinemacule4948

Too many changing stations. You probably need two one for downstairs with cady and one for bedroom. Seeing as you have so little space i would sugest foldabla changing pad tuckes in cady and just change in bed. Also put her sleepers in bedroom because probably you will end up with some mess in middle of night or early morning and last thing you want is go to her nursery. I would also put most of her clothes for 0-3 month in your clothet as you will probably change her there. I honestly do not understand the whole nursery thing an feeding chair in separate room, it is like setting uourself to failure in brestfeeding. You will probably end up brestfeeding in bed anyway they wake up a lot.
