Thanks for a real overview. Most companies selling the Alpha 10 don't show how the unit really works. I rabbit hunt too and am on the fence between the Alpha 10 and 200. With your detailed description of how to change settings on each dog, that has been my biggest question that I never could get an answered. Not as quick to change from tone to stimulus, but it doesn't appear to be as bad as advertised. This looks like a great unit for rabbit hunters for sure.

Thanks for the review! So it seem like you can pair the Alpha 10 to your phone, and if you download the maps beforehand on Garmin Explore, you can follow your dog in real time on those maps when you're hunting. Does that sound correct? Even if you're out of cell service?
Question On my Alpha 10 it shows in yards but my phone shows in feet. Is there a way to have my phone show in yards? Also your Garmin app on your phone is different than mine. In the settings I'm unable to delete my previous tracks. I can hide them but unable to delete them. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.
In the settings on your phone inside the app, you should be able to change measurement unit from feet to yards. And you should be able to set so it doesn’t keep previous tracks.
Have you switched to Garmin from Dogtra? It seems like my Pathfinder is inconsistent with correction. It tracks great. Just doesn’t always get results with correction.
Yes, about a year and a half ago I switched to Garmin Alpha 10 and TT15 Mini collars. I like having the maps on my phone but the controls and tracking on the handheld is better than the Dogtra. I can work dogs in the yard on command training and leave my phone inside.
Yes. It all shows up on your phone. When you start for the day, you can click start hunt and at end of the day when you finish the hunt and end it, you can then click on each dog or yourself to see distance for the hunt. You can also click on the map during the hunt to see distance walked so far during the hunt.
@@RivahTimeBeagles thanks for the quick response so you can’t actively see how many miles you have done on the device itself ? Also are you saying you can on the app ?another thing what if you have no reception will the app still work ?
At the 8:40 point In the video I discuss how to turn on the LED Beacon. If that does not work for you, you may need a software upgrade or reset of the collar
You can pair it to multiple devices, but you can only use one device at a time. And yes. I believe maps are much better than the 200 plus you don’t have to pay extra for map card.

I’ve been able to hunt with it about 5 times and have used it 5-6 times in my training pen. I really like it.

That is correct. The map is on your phone and all other controls are on the handheld. I have been very pleased with it.

Just got one the alpha 100 from 5 yrs ago was too much trouble.Oh...how do you load the garmin explore app? Do you need a computer to do so?

I keep hearing how hard it is to correct dogs with this. Would you recommend this for just one catch dog that still need to be corrected
I would recommend it for sure. I have not had any issues with correcting dogs with it. I feel like it’s a fairly simple and straight forward process.
Will this tell you how many miles you or your dog walked in total for that day I know the 200i does but will the alpha 10 do the same

Hello I can’t seem to get the led light fucktiin to work with my alpha 10 to my tt15x collar is there any tricks or something I’m missing ?
