Nestled in the heart of Western Canada, Alberta is a province renowned for its diverse and captivating landscapes. The Rocky Mountains dominate the horizon to the west and rolling prairies takeover moving eastward. I'm sure you know Alberta's landscape for it's incredible lakes and skiing in Banff and Jasper.
Western ranching and cowboy culture have deep roots in Alberta's heritage, contributing to the province's distinctive identity. The vast expanses of land are home to countless cattle ranches, where ranchers carry on traditions passed down through generations. Here, the spirit of the cowboy thrives, embodied by rugged individuals who work tirelessly to tend to their herds amidst the sprawling prairies. Rodeos, chuckwagon races, and country fairs are integral to Alberta's cultural calendar.
Today, I'm lucky enough to join one of those men on a day in the life of a Canadian Rodeo Cowboy in Alberta as he prepares for the Calgary Stampede Rodeo.

When I grew up my dad side of the family all cowboys and rodeo’s. I’m the only one that didn’t follow the way. Don’t mean I don’t know it. I was taught and raised at a very young age I never forgot. Blessed to know how these things

This makes me miss my brother who on his own learned how to train horses through a magazine. He was so dedicated to it that he was actually a good horse trainer. Maybe even a horse whisperer. But sadly we lost him and his wife 8 years ago on the same day. They loved each others so much. It was a car accident that took there lives.

Watching this has brought back so many memories for me , for I used to ride horses a lot when I was in my teens and early twenties. Worked on a cattle station in the Northern Territory, horses are amazing animals and yep they are all very much individuals in character.

I know the silver slate arena very well it is just on the south side of Nanton Alberta but I have never stopped there I watched the arena get built several years ago so I better stop in the next time I am up the road

On my dad and mom’s side we have 1 ranch and it’s 130,000 acres in Wyoming but I’m in between rodeoing and ranching what should I do?
