I can't turn the volume up too much or the highs will get way too loud. I can't enjoy it very much so far. I prefer the FDX01 sound so far, which is unfortunate because the N5005 fits much better and doesn't constantly want to fall out of my ears. I have been using the Violetric Chronos and a Schitt Jotunheim/Bifrost stack. The Schitt stack seems to help a little bit, but not much. (Later edit) I just switched to the "bass" filters. Definitely better. I don't mind listening now. The highs are not nearly as bad, though they occasionally still have that sharp sibilant sound sometimes. It is just much more toned down. I wish AKG would have toned down the two high BAs by default do I wouldn't be forced to use only one filter to avoid those spicy highs.
How are these compared to Beyerdynamic Xelento Wireless? I'm trying to find the best upper tier IEM with has Bluetooth and are great for not causing listening fatigue.
Non fatiguing? Hmm... depends on what IEM you are coming from. If you like the UE900 kind of sound with veiled mid-highs then yes the N5005 will be fatiguing in that range. For the Xelento, if you don't like fat bass blasting in your head all the time, it will be fatiguing too. The heavily mid recessed, V-shape sound signature of Xelento also means you are more likely to increase the volume for hearing the melody more clearly, but the bass and treble will be boosted equally as well.
For truly non-fatiguing earphone, I suggest ignoring the wireless bit for now, look for something that has a balanced sound signature (or neutral even), then look for a third party MMCX/2-pin bluetooth cable. This gives you much wider spectrum of IEM to choose from, much better than the small pool of wireless IEM we are limited to.
@@EarphoneusFanaticus Thanks for replying man! I actually just bought the xelentos and you are right, I have to turn the volume up because I find myself craving that melody. Yet they arent making my ears hurt as much as I thought they might. I'm going to continue to burn them for a week or so and see how I feel
I've also tried the shure 846s and those annihilated my ears bad. If the xelentos dont work out I was thinking of trying the Westone W60 with the 3rd party Bluetooth adapter
From memory I think the N40 is a bit dark sounding. The N5005 has stronger bass from below 150Hz, less lower mids (some call it mid bass) between around 150hz and 500Hz, and stronger low-treble presence. If you like strong bass with very good kick and yet zero hint of congestion, clean sound as well as more excitement up top, I would say the N5005 is practically a level above in every single aspect. The problem with the N40 for me is that it sounded a lot like the DUNU DK-3001 which also suffered from congestion due to aggressive tuning from below around 500Hz, something the N40 shares in similarity.
Meanwhile, your microphone seems quite sibilant, my friend. LOL. Also, I'm surprised you're expecting "vertical layering" from any equipment. I feel like image height and vertical positioning are just a by-product of phase anomalies among other things, or worse can be a sign of lousy driver integration. As such they are not specifically intended by the "stereo" recording. Were you instead referring to "depth" or "front-to-back layering"?
Por que a la gente le gusta esta basura ? Soy músico y aún mis amigos músicos dicen que son horribles .. use todo tipo de típs .. aún compre foam tips especiales para mejorar el sonido y nada!! Quieren mejor sonido ? Compren juicy ears .. de nada.

The piano background music is annoying and distracting :(
How are these compared to Beyerdynamic Xelento Wireless?
Is it worth up opgrade from the N40?
Comfort wise the N5005 and N40 are basically the same except it sticks out a bit more, so if you like how the n40 fits you will also like the N5005!
Would you like to sell me them ?
Now at $200 lmao
Compren juicy ears .. de nada.
