I love the movie Fame, staring Irene Cara, RIP, it’s about the School Of Performing Arts in NYC, and this is definitely one of my favorite songs, still gives me chills more than 40 years later. I also watched the tv show, I wanted to go to that school so badly. Sarah you definitely should watch the movie, it’s so good.❤
I developed a crush on her due to her performance in this movie. Sure was shocked and felt bad when she passed away when she did. She was a very beautiful young lady even though she's close to my age (in the 60's).
The final scene of the movie "Fame" in which the graduating student of a high school for the performing arts in New York City gives a graduation recital. Irene Cara singing in the role of "Coco". She also sang the title track for the movie "Flashdance". The guy with the red hair singing also plays one of the prison guards in "The Shawshank Redemption." Other good songs from this movie sung by Irene Cara were "On My Own" and another (impromptu) talent ensemble scene called "Hot Lunch Jam".
well well well, this is simply a masterpiece, I was watching the movie as a kid a this gorgeous song simply got stuck into my mind for 30 years, simply unforgettable
This is the finale of the movie. It's a song that incorporates so many genres! Great movie and sound track. If you have not done it, have a listen to 'Out Here On My Own', from the Fame soundtrack. It is quite moving.
This performance was at the end of the movie, it's the graduation performance of the students at the difficult High School of Music and Performing Arts in New York City.
Fame was a tv series in the 1980’s. It’s about students at the New York High School for the Performing Arts I watched it regularly. I really enjoyed watching this again and seeing you enjoy it😁
It was a movie first, released in 1980 and directed by Alan Parker. This is from the film, it's their end of term performance. The show didn't come out until 1982.
Fame is a 1980 musical film (you just saw a snippet of that). It later became a stage musical and there is also a more recent film adaptation. I only know the original film (it's probably somewhere on the internet or in an online media library) and it's highly recommended.
This movie made lots of people stars. Lee Curreri is a professional musician. Gene Anthony Ray Was a professional dancer who will be missed. More importanly it made Paul McCrane a star most famous for playing Dr Romano on ER. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song especially Laura Dean singing the beginning. Pretty and talented
This clip is from the movie Fame, about kids attending the New York School of Performing Acts. Their performance in the scene was part of the graduation ceremony. It's just so much cooler than any graduation I've ever seen or attended.
I have recommended this song to so many reactors over two years. No one else has done it yet. I was so happy to see this posted and I love your reaction. I've loved this song since the movie came out in 1980, and as many times as I've heard it, it still gives me chills too. This is the finale scene from the 1980 movie Fame, featuring Irene Cara among some other amazing talents. In this scene, the featured singers, dancers and musicians are actors who play the major student roles. Most of the rest of the chorus, choir, band, orchestra and dancers are actual graduating students from The High School of Performing Arts (1979) in NYC. The audience was comprised (other than the teachers and parents they focus on) of other students and staff from the school. It must have been a lot of fun to be part of this. The most "chills" part for me is that insane harmony as the pace picks up and it just all starts smashing together. Love it. Great reaction. Thanks!
p.s. I hope this video gets lots of views. I hope you don't mind a suggestion. I recommend including Irene Cara's name in the video title. Also, RIP to the beautiful Irene Cara.
Sweetheart, love your reaction. This song pays homage to Walt Whitman poem in his collection of poetry called “Leaves of Grass” , in which one of the poems is entitled “I sing the Body Electric”. Whitman was ridiculed at the time for his openness. Check it out. Get to know your history. Also, I was this young then. Like those kids in that movie and it had a huge impact on me at the time. Young like you are now and I was full of dreams and aspirations. How different my life turned out. The adults never tell you when you’re young just how awful people might treat you or how things will likely happen that you might not can handle and they will change you forever. You get a taste of those seeds in this movie. Life is hard. But it’s also beautiful. Like this song. Full of majestics.
Yes, this is from the movie, Fame. It's about the students at New York's High School of Performing Arts and this scene is the finale of the movie, depicting the students' final, senior year graduation performance and as such, it incorporates the music majors (singers and musicians) and the dance majors. And you were correct in spotting a few proud parents in the audience. This movie also spawned a TV series that fan for several years.
The real beauty of the examined video wasn't the artistic skill (and it was very well done), but that the participants were actors playing the part of the students and they showed the fear and nerves of the people in those roles.
Miss Sarah, it's good to see you smiling again. Thank you for answering a question that I asked a few videos ago. I also made a observation and compared you to my friend who was born in Jamaica. It is amazing to me how that you and her are so culturally similar even though you were raised thousands of miles apart. I'm learning a lot from your channel. Thank you.
Great reaction my friend fame was great 1 for your list Rammstein - du hast - Paris awesome it's red hot at the moment many thanks love and respect from the UK 👍👍👍👍👍🌟😀😀 amazing channel 👍
This is from the movie Fame. RIP Irene Cara. Fame turned into a TV series! It's so touching. This made me cry, it's that beautiful.
Made me cry, too, thinking of her. She's still one of my favorite singers of all time that I can count on one hand.
I saw this when I was 14 years old. I will never forget the beauty of this movie; the music and also the story between the movie.

The lyrics are from a poem by the great Walt Whitman. This is the performing arts school end of year musical/showcase scene from the movie Fame.
Great movie and soundtrack. Rip irene Cara and Gene Anthony ray❤
Turner Classic Movies has Fame on demand for free this month, if you are interested in seeing the movie where this came from.

I think you'd really enjoy the movie Fame.
I clicked because my babysitter from the 70s was in your thumbnail 🤣 that’s Paul! He used to play piano and sing for us 💗
I’m going to take a wild guess and say I’m sure multiple people have told you by now, that was from the 1980 movie, “Fame.”
I recommend the movie. Maybe you could do a reaction video watching it
ach übrigens jawoll! lol
