Even the guitars sounded different. This band was just beginning when Gus sadly passed it's amazing to think of what they would have become today if still together. A unique example of talent coming together for something completely different from anything back then and still today.
Agreed. They were fantastic. Especially in a time where metal was so mundane, these guy really gave us something exciting to listen to for a change. Great vocals,fantastic drumming,awesome guitar riffs. This stuff just made you stand up and act like a maniac!!

Absolutely, the Grip albums are so much better than Slayer's output it's not even funny. On absolutely every front, songwriting, innovation, performances, character, attitude, the whole nine yards. God hates us all was even worse than Divine intervention, one good song (Disciple) and that was it.

Long time slayer fan because of lombardo and never knew about this band until a few years back. This band is just as metal with a great frontman and ive never seen any kind of promotion for them...RIP GUS
I hated this band when they came out because I expected Slayer. I was driving everyone home on a three hour drive after an Ozzfest show and they were all sleeping. I popped in Solidify a passenger gave me earlier and gave it a good listen with no distractions- just a dark freeway- and loved it. Two days later I went to the store and bought Grip Inc's first 3 CDs.
Because talent does not correspond with being popular, look at the top charts of music today 😂 it’s all popular but is awful, it sucks because they deserve the fame and money but that’s just the way it is
I was lucky I got to see them on tour with Morbid Angel back in 95. Gus was an absolute beast of a frontman. He def should've been more popular, along with the entire band.

Grip is one of my favorite bands. Gus, RIP, was an English Punk singer before Grip and as it turns out one of the best metal vocalists of all time.

They broke up in 2006, I think because around that time Lombardo came back to Slayer. Not reuniting because the singer died in 2008. Sad
