If you have to save money to buy a GPU, it's simply not in your budget. Forget it and grab something that you can afford right now without any impact on your global budget and quality of life. Video Game is a hobby not a life goal.

reply Out of all these cards which one would you recommend for a content creator such as yourself or for video editing as well as for live streaming. And would you build a system that you can find online for cheap to make them viable either in the states or in Australia??? I think this would make a good video for you and I am completely interested because I have a Gaming centered UA-cam channel just starting out. I am in desperate need a new system that can video edit and stream. I mean I running a RX580 my dude and other components that are at least from 2015...

One other card to consider not on this list is the regular non-ti GTX 1080 8GB. It can be had for not much more than the GTX 1070 8GB in many cases and won't be as abused as the 11GB 1080ti. I have one of those, a bit too slow, only for backup system in case if main dies. But with tuned settings (not maxed out) most games are playable, but I wouldn't pay more than $50 for it ($30 sure, why not)
Good for retro PC (XP with hacked drivers or installing manually forced as 960, it will be shown as one, but works fine, same core and stuff) but if you want the best for XP a 980 TI is better.

It allowed me to pass my 6600XT down to my son for his rig. Price was easily the lowest I'd seen around this market. That price point is usually occupied with 3060s around here.

I got really lucky and bought a new 4060 ti for $330, I upgraded from a 1060. heck yeah, 260 US for a 3070 with warranty is an awesome deal. Personally, I stay away from used AMD GPUs without warranty as I've seen they die way too often, their construction is just subpar, especially MSI. Depending on the manufacturer, Nvidia cards with Ti memory chips, tend to die much faster as well, I wouldn't touch one with Hynix chips.

Nvidia brand bias is definitely a big thing in certain regions. From where I'm from, you can get a RX 6800 for as low as $250 and RX 6800 XT for $290 and there are LOTS of them, they aren't just one-off deals. And yet the Nvidia equivalent, RTX 3080 (10G) is still selling at $350 at the lowest. One seller even said to me that they only accept trading as long as you're offering an Nvidia card. It was clean and had been used by its original owner in a gaming PC. Mint condition save for a loose fan plug connector, which I easily repaired. As it came with the waterblock installed, the loose fan connector wasn't noticed by me until the OEM fan assembly was reinstalled. @@Technocrat. Ti cards are not just overclocked non-Ti cards. They will also have the better coolers in many cases. The performance jump is not just from higher speeds and power draw. The specs of the 2080ti is significant over the 2080 super (eg. cores etc.).

I have cleaned and repasted so many cards over the years, if they needed it or not. The 2080ti is like the only card I would have stress over taking apart. It is like so cringy pulling apart the layers. There is just an insane amount of components covering both sides of the pcb. Should be prepared to swap out the pads, there are allot on this card. The 3 memory chips closest to the PCI fingers have a tendency of just throwing in the towel. It was a problem from the get go, so yes a gamble on longevity.

I'm giving my wife my Palit 3060 12GB which I got new for twice as much last year, because she need the CUDA cores for work. Got an RTX 3080 for £380 with a years warranty and ability to return. The cards a monster, plays most games at 4k60, and can still play harder to run games at 4k60 if you just drop the settings from ultra to high. £380 for a card that outperforms a 4070 comfortably in 4k is great value.

Monitor was an older 24" 144Hz and didn't have DP and I didn't wanna run 60Hz so I had to go buy a new screen as well. But now I can use that monitor at another house with a GTX980, all ends well

@@majjjk I had a similar experience when I got a PS4 years ago. My monitor only had DVI and VGA. My PS3 worked well with it using a HDMI adapter but the PS4 produced no signal with the same adapter. Tried a few different adapters and an HDCP stripper. In the end after many amazon returns, a simple HDMI to DVI cable did the trick.

I needed to get a GPU for a new small ITX build project so I bought a new Zotac Single Fan RTX4060 for $280 US before they jacked it up for Black Friday I tested it against my RX6600 for power efficiency and had a 20W to 40W less power draw from the wall on the 4060 coupled with the better performance I decided to leave it in my regular build, and I'm rebuilding my my old gaming rig with the RX6000 to sell before Christmas. I'm going to just wait for the new AM5 APUs for the ITX build later on next year.

I then sold the last 4 gpus for $400AUD during crypto and they sold out quickly.
I also purchased an AMD Reference model 6700XT during crypto for $689 AUD and onsold it for $1300 less than a week later.

No bad product per the price but there are bad investments. It’s nice when a computer meets most games recommended spec even though some are poorly optimized. I like the rule of doubling take whatever your initial investment would be and double it until you can’t reasonably spend more. chances are you’ll get more for the money if not in terms of performance; longevity and ease of mind

Based on the question of the day, this is honestly something that kinda sucks about modern games is that they chase higher and higher graphics, while all the statistics show that most people actually care about gameplay and fun way more when playing video games. It's as if the developers of the big games are just not having any good ideas and it would be easier and faster to increase poly counts and trace rays than to write and implement a compelling story, fun gameplay or both.
