Intel reported a 28 man gang roaming about while i was ratting and I took out my newly fitted Tengu to test the fit!
Intel was bits and pieces and i was trying my luck and putting this Tengu to the test.
Made few mistakes here and there but i survived!

When there are more capsules on field observing than enemy ships, you know it was a good fight.

and the biggest i encountered was 2 frigs, 3 cruisers, and 2 battleships while taking a shortcut through low-sec in my proteus. lets just say me and the guys in the battleships just went our separate ways after we all ran out of ammo.
Sometimes we get crappy fights, sometimes we get good fights. It's the good fights that keeps us going!

small tip: you can actually set a keep at range distance by rightclicking it above the overview, it would spare loads of time
I did what i could managing targets, bait tanking and not getting popped! Totally forgot to set the shortcut for keeping range and was too busy during the fight to tweak it. Thanks for the tip!
What would you say if told you that the very first ship I piloted in eve (because capsules don't count) was a Tengu?

I tried to become good at pvp for more than a year. After that periode I realised, "I'm just shit at pvp". I still sometimes dream of being this op 😉 well done.

Noob Visions try to do ratting, it's a nice target practice, if you can't with that try to join a fleet in your corp, there will always be someone that is willing to help you :)
loool for a year :D bro year is nothing in eve online u must spend 3-4 years if ur IQ not lower than 100 . if u will fly 3-4 years every day solo or 3-4 pilot fleet u will be not bad pilot. If u want be good u need to spend much more time or have much higher IQ and if u want to be like 98% of biomass just play like u want rat alot and sit in dock when neuts came

Exacrly, I was a -10 pirate that flew a 3 bill Tengu in low sec and 0.0 and never found easy prey like this. I stopped playing years ago.

You can fit missiles or blasters. It just happened blasters fit in to what i wanted to get out of the tengu fit.

great fight. liked how he managed his cap after his booster ran out of charges. Also, used his shield damage to keep them baited in. Once they lost half their strength they should have disengaged as they were not going to break his tank. Poor leadership in the inty fleet. Well done!
I know this was 6 years ago, but he never ran out of cap charges, he was bait tanking making them think they were on the brink of breaking him.

i joined the game recently because of videos like these, but got stuck just like u in the highsec grey zone where its just so dull and its like a different game, got no idea how to join epic fights and actually do something noticable
Join a nullsec corp. I joined Brave and Bovril on day 1 of EVE and was absolutely overwhelmed by all the shit to do.

That's from the recording software. It is for people to track my mouse movement easier.

It was a fun fight! I setup up this overview manually when i started playing Eve Online 5 years ago and been using it since then.

looked like it when they were loosing they looked to get out so no bubble :) Interdiction clones usually have no implants, so being podded is the quickest and easiest way to reship.

Cool fight. One thing I noticed was that you seemed to intentionally keep your shield below 50% during the fight. What was the reason for this?

so through that video one thing kept bothering me.....if your tank was stable even with the neuts on you.....why did you keep turning it off?
I presume to make the enemy think they are breaking his tank. So they don't just warp of.
I kept my shields low to keep my enemies interested.

Dude, set a default orbit range @ 2,500m - it was making me cry each time you went through the menus to do that! Right-click only when you want non-standard e.g. 5km orbit.

That does look like it, though I suspect he was also running a crystal implant set, as otherwise his tank should have broken under the amount of fire he came under (those 28 guys should have been able to pump out around 2000 dps at least), or maybe he was already under the influence of a strong blue pill booster (or both).
he had a fleet booster also, the web was catching people at 18km with no overload, im imagining they were running shield links as well
Nice one, but why you playing with shield booster with stabilized cap?
his cap isnt stable, he just didnt have enoug incoming dps to strain his cap (notice the cap booster fitted that he didnt have to use) and when fitting a blastergu, x large shield booster is the way to go

You could've baited them much much better and you baited them a bit although they pretty much baited themselves on your Tankygoo!
Very nice job! I feel like your Faction Shield Booster would've kept you alive had you ran it non stop and may have gotten you into Structure Tank although you would've lived :)
you know your FC wants you to loose your ship when after 10 die he doesn't call retreat, either that or it was a "Till the death" roam.

T3 cruisers are the most overpowered ship in the game currently, dwarfing all other sub-capitals in almost every role, and all at once. Also the enemies attacking him had poor ship/ewar choices, which gave them too little dps to break his T3 godtank.

You would think they would get the hint that the tengu is blaster fitted after he popped half your gang as soon as they came in close....
I believe they were on the offensive side of the fight and being careful is not what they were thinking. Also they might think i am going to run out of cap boosters soon after such a long fight.
why were you shooting ranisses when there were crusaders to pop? that EM damage was the main think hurting you

It's easy when you watch from my end. I could imagine being on the other side thinking i was using ancillary shield booster or running out of cap boosters.

Impressive, they had to of been bringing at least 5000 DPS against the Tengu. I guarantee his resists across the board were in the mid 90s

It's harder to fit good tanking with HAMs.

Good fight. Anyways don't take the risk and use the shield booster more times. It seems you have a cap booster in your ship and its also having a good cap stability. Usually a tengu with your gist x large should be stable with 2 mcc rigs and a flux coil in the low slots. Why do you have so much shield ? When I am using a pith-x x-large with pith x amplifier, one cycle is repairing around 52% shield and it's also capstable on 40%.
He wasn't worried about his cap....he was bait tanking them.
+paul gwin I know that. Anyways it's not good in my opinion. With the loss of the half armor he would be more vulnerable to anyone else who is joining or their backup. I surely understood why he did it, but it could be risky also.
no need to use shield booster more times. If they see you can tank them with no problem they will just leave. Actually he should bleed way more armor imo. Also pvp ship doesn't need to be cap stable, cap stable is for ratting. And if you really need cap stable blengu you should put large cap battery in mid and not rigs and flux coil in low. It's a waste of fitting.

try setting your keep at range button so you dont have to focus on the drop menu.
Why did you keep turning off your booster? You were fine on cap for most of the way, and you started seriously dipping into armor for all those turn-offs. What was the reasoning?

If he was full shield they would realise that they couldnt win, so by taking some damage he kept them interested. ie he was baiting them
Hmm, ok, I could see that. Just made me clench a bit watching a bil-and-a-half tengu dip to 1/3rd armor.
Running an x-large booster on a cruiser sized ship and not even needing cap boosters... why would anyone run armor when shields are so broken?
because that fit costs multiple billions and he was just fighting frigs. well, there are some other reasons too but im to lazy to list them all
The fit may be expensive but you can do the same thing without the bling mods, just won't tank as much.
Tengu has one of the highest cap regen speeds of any ship in the game when fitted with the right sub systems. plus he's using a gist booster which use less cap.

There si no excuse these days, they should of had AF's, LF's and EWF's with them. Hell bring a couple more destroyers, maybe even a CD, would have helped greatly.
