Bo Diddley sat in with a band I played in called The Shakes during the Summer of 1981…we were the house band at Meral’s (by the bay!) in Margate, NJ…I handed him my guitar and played harp; he proceeded to break a string during the first song (“I’m A Man”) so the other guitarist, Bob, gave him his guitar and picked up maracas; Bo broke a string on that guitar in the next song (“Hey Bo Diddley”) Bob & I both ran to stop him from picking up our communal Ricky 12 string from it’s stand!
