I can see why you love this role - the music, the drama, the character, the costume, it seems closer to a wordless play.
Maybe because my high school taught this play when I was at an impressionable age, but I can hear the Shakespearean lines in the back at certain moments.
Great video and can't wait for the next ☺ Excited to see if there is a 'Where did she go?' Moment 😂

Hi Kathryn! Just a comment to tell you that I'm glad I found your channel! I have always loved ballet and I started doing videos about it, though as a complete amateur.
It's really nice to have your videos to watch, especially as in France, we do not really have dancers who do that, who have a YT channel where they share their experience.
So, thank you :) And keep up the good job! \o/

If some arts monster ever came along and said all ballet must go, but you can keep just one scene, it would have to be the ballroom scene from Romeo and Juliet..The dancing, the grandeur, Prokofiev..it is to ballet what Queen of the Night is to opera and Mozart..sublime. And so happy that Katie was able to do this. And if I could keep two things, the other would have to be the wilis, and Giselle’s beautiful solo..oh, just thinking about this is making my emotion all tangled....

I really vote for merch !
⚀First of all a "*Where'd he go / where'd she go ?*" shirt, button, stitch - on - patch or fabric bag ! A bag is not so complicated to produce and could be used for everyone, the dancers in here, since we all just learned they need so many stuff to have at hand in class and rehearsals and the rest of us ungracious beings too for shopping and studying ! ^^
(I even imagined a simple stick- figure with one arm stretched out forwards and a waving cape...)
    ⚁And second one with the now famous: *You ?! - Here ?! - Why ?!* 🙄

the world's quickest quick change: the quick change i had to do once at the beginning of this summer x_x i had a heavy headpiece to be pinned on and it wasn't even pinned properly - it almost fell off mid dance and i tried to quickly fix it but there was only one other person besides me onstage so it was probably pretty noticeable. I also had to shove my own velcro together to close a part of my costume while running to the proper wing and the entire thing almost went totally wrong x_x
Actual comment: this video's fun to watch even though i'm not very familiar with romeo and juliet :D

My dance school is doing the ballroom scene as part of a showcase, and the walking and simple steps but complicated staging are really weird. I’m probably going to elbow someone because of the awkward arms, or hit them while I walk backwards in demi-second.

Ana Silva How many times in a week are you doing ballet? If you aren’t dancing that much (not in a school were you dance almost everyday multiple hours a day) if you’re not, and just dance 1 a 2 times a week, you don’t need more than one pair of pointe shoes, because you simply will not use them that much.
