I've recently begun exploring my heritage and, building my family tree, I found a possible connection with Shelley, as well as strong Scottish roots that I hadn't previously been aware of. This inspired me to buy the Everyman's pocket editions of Shelley's works and of Scottish Poems, and I have fallen in love, both with the poems, and with the series. I have already added several other volumes to my wishlist, and I look forward to building my collection!

I thought I wasn’t a poetry person then realized I love Whitman, Yeats, Plath, and William Carlos Williams.

Nice you presented R M Rilke. He’s written an incredible amount of stunning poems.

And his 'Letters to a Young Poet' is some of the best life-advice I've ever encountered. True wisdom literature :)

Keats is one of my favorites too. I think I want to start collecting these. Have you seen the editions that are on certain themes? I was thinking the mourning one may be really insightful for this part of my life.

I have indeed. I have the Irish collection, the zen poetry, and a few others. They're very good :)

Watching this a year later. I hope you've added the Burns edition to your collection.

Are these editions still available? The covers I see online are different unless I’m just seeing the dust jackets

How do these compare to the other Everyman's? Are they just scaled down?

Just got a copy of Letters to a Young Poet. A small volume that has been through the inquisition.

I found a copy of James Joyce, very fitting with it being St. Patrick’s Day.

I have googled a bit and seems many have recommended Robert Frost as a starting point. Any comment :)?

Thank you so much :) I would personally recommend starting with an anthology of many different poets and seeing which one stands out to you the most. Robert Frost is good - one of my personal favourites is Keats. I find his work endlessly beautiful and not too difficult for a first time reader :)

Hey Ben! Silly Question. What do you do with your dust jackets? I love these books I just discovered them at my local book store. I just discovered your sight not to long ago. Your content is truly top notch. Your explanations and discourse are enjoyable as well. I'm working my way through your podcast starting with season 1. My goal is to join the Hardcore Literature Club, I'm just not in a position to commit right now just wanted you to know what a great job your doing and what amazing content you provide! Thank You ,
    Todd

Hey Todd! I have drawer stuffed full of the Everyman dust jackets. They actually do look really nice with the jackets too. I've got each and every colour, which I'm rather happy about. Latest edition being the mauve coloured Virgil's Aeneid. And thank you so much for your kind words, for listening, and for joining up! You have made my day :)
