This week's video is a book summary written by my friend, Niklas Göke. I use his Four Minute Library every day: I read one of his 800+ book summaries each morning in less than 5 minutes.
Copy part of my morning routine and get some wisdom from the world's best books: gumroad.com/a/597161075

5:30 I’m paraphrasing here, but did you state that you were not into spirituality, mindfulness and meditation? If so, what alternative and surrogated elements do you extensively utilize, in order to develop your mind, body and soul, and to embody your username “The Art Of Improvement”?

    Energy flows where attention goes...
As Wayne Dyer said: " When you change the way you look at things , the things you look at change ..."
Quantum physics talks about the observe effect also that any object observed is affected by the observer and his energy ...
We have an influence on our environment through our energy , through ideas , thoughts emotions and actions .

Another good lesson. Don't desire anything from anyone. Or live by that same desire

We all feel like the future is uncertain now because of the pandemic. But the truth is the future is always uncertain. We never have control.

Not diminishing the teachings but overall it’s trying to say just stay calm, don’t react, don’t think too much. It is sound advice that stems from Buddhism and other Eastern philosophy. Doing these practices continuously, allows yourself to become freer and “higher”.

    The power of now
The I as the self created by thoughts
    3 lessons:
    1. The past and the future occupy our current thoughts the most. The present is the most important moment. Ignore the re gret from the past and the anxiety of the future.
    2. Pain is self created according to stoics.
    3. What will my next thought be? This Q delays nagging thoughts. It's OK to feel emotion, but don't let it control your actions.

I wonder how this way of living would affect the way we set our life goals and purposes. I think setting long term goals might make you think alot of the future. What do you think?

I've been meditating for 24 years and don't recognize any of the mental things he is helping people put an end to.
I do recognize anxiety and depression, though, which is basically your tummy or other emotions reacting to your thinking about the future or past respectively and starting to act or react as if those phenomena were in the present - since this is all the body really directly knows ayway, the here-and-now.

we suffer more often in imagination than in reality: seneca. that is driving force behind anxiety at the cost of ignoring the present time that matters
