Totally agree. I had no problems keeping up with my friends on bigger bikes. Was a great bike to learn to ride on. Still have her, but this year my wife will be riding the GV250 while I am on my Vulcan Nomad
Hey guy iv just recently become acquainted with the Aquila and have diffanly fallin for it ,but im curious to know ,you posted this video in 2014 do you still have it now in 2018? oh and very nicely decked out, Oh and im a couple off hrs from Toronto by chance are you in Toronto?
Both myself and my wife used that bike to learn on. And we both loved it. But we’ve moved on. We are both now riding VStroms and are really enjoying them. We live in the Ottawa area. What area are you in?
Hey there ,So by you saying yo.ve moved on ..i take it from that ,you dont have anymore?lol But im ruffly a couple hrs north of Toronto.yous is the frist iv seen on line all decked out with the hard bags. And tel me are there a lot of them out Ottawa way as most of the Aquilas that are on Kijiji seem to be out you Ottawa
you are correct. i no longer have that bike. and i only ever saw a couple of them riding around the Ottawa area. But i must say both my wife and i really liked the bike to learn on. Good size and power for a 250cc.
I"m an American living in Korea. I ride the 2005 version of that bike here. In the States I rode a 1600cc V-twin. I was shocked at how much power this 250cc has. Seat of the pants it feels like 2/3rds of a 1600, not 1/6th. The 1600 got 34mpg, and this gets about 70mpg. All that said, where did you get your windshield?
I bought the windshield from amazon.com. Here is the link ...www.amazon.com/Slipstreamer-SS-24V-Hellfire-Crusier-Shield/dp/B000GZO604/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1410048466&sr=8-3&keywords=hellfire+windshield+gv250 or you can get it from eBay here ... www.ebay.com/itm/Slipstreamer-SS-24-Hellfire-Windscreen-Clear-Cruiser-/191186356311?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c83984857&vxp=mtr Either way its a pretty good screen. Ive been very happy with it.
Ive seen reviews on other 250s such as the Honda Rebel. Most folks said they would really struggle on the interstate and they felt like they were holding up traffic. How do you feel driving the GV250 on the interstate ?
Well i live in Canada. So our highway speed is usually 100kms. And the bike has no problem doing that . Im a pretty big guy at around 250 pounds so I'm sure if the rider was lighter the bike could go even faster. Ive topped her out at about 135kms. But i do have a lot of luggage, windscreen and accessories on this bike that weigh her down a bit. Bare bones I'm sure i could get her a bit faster.
I have been living in Kansas. I rode K-35 from Wichita to Oklahoma border etc with ease at 70 mph I now ride I 44, (route 66) and does just fine. I do have to watch for wind with trucks on the road. climbs MO hills easily
Thanks for your reply back to me. I will see how I go purchasing the Slipstreamer Hellfire SS-24. They say that you should not look through the windshield but over the top with the middle of your nose in line with the top of the screen. I have had screens on all my bikes over the years set up like this and have had no trouble. I use an open face helmet with sun glasses. With out a screen my helmet is nearly ripped off my head with my eyes streaming tears. With a wind shield no trouble at all from the wind. I am looking forward to getting a wind shield for my 2010 GV250EI motorcycle. At 65 years of age a wind shield for me is a must have item.
Yeah definitely helps on longer rides but I'm gonna look at something a little thicker soon. But for now it helps. And thanks, she does look and feel bigger then a 250. Which was one of the reasons I chose this bike versus other 250 bikes.
Greg Toope I use this one for winter cuz I'm wearing so much other gear (fully armored from the waist down in winter) and I don't want to ruin my Airhawk which I use the other 3 seasons.
gentlemansnine how do you find the air hawk? I'm really considering picking one up. You can grab one for around the $100 mark, so definitely worth considering.
Greg Toope I like the AirHawk, it's much more comfortable (once you get the right amount of air in it - less is better) than the Walmart seat pad thing I use for winter. The only issue I have is that it got a small tear/leak right at the base where the valve step goes into the seat. They give you a patch kit, but because of the leak location (small tear at a 90 degree bend), it was pretty difficult to patch. Much better than the seat pad thing though!
Dont have the bike anymore, but we used it to travel all around eastern Canada and the US. Im sure it had less power than normal, but was surprising what this little bike could do.
Be aware!!!!!! All Hyosung Aquila GV250, built in the years 2009-2012 are equipped with a Daewoo motor management. Daewoo doesn't support Hyosung anymore and there are no parts for any electronic motor management available. Don't say you was not told.
Hi, very very nice bike with a lot of stuff on it, will you have a look on mine it's 2005, you'll find it on my channel "fabtongo" or with the title "2015 hyosung gv250 prototype neo-vintage" thanks for your video.
I've had my GV250 up to 148Km, flat out, it really is amazing how much power it has for a 'little' engine
Totally agree. I had no problems keeping up with my friends on bigger bikes. Was a great bike to learn to ride on. Still have her, but this year my wife will be riding the GV250 while I am on my Vulcan Nomad
Nice my friend. 👍🏻😊🏍
that bike looks so huge .. is a 250cc right..?
nice set up you got there..
Looks sweet man. I would be very happy if mine looked as good. Keep the vids rolling, great work. :-)
Thanks. In time. Takes a bit of work and a bit of cash. But definitely doable. And there will definitely be more vids!!

Thank you for the link.
I have a 05 where can I find replacement parts and upgrades

나도 GV250을 가지고 있다. 오래된 모델이지만, 아주 좋은 바이크라고 생각한다.
Hi that is a nice machine what is the wind shield make thank you.
It’s the Slipstreamer Hellfire SS-24. You can watch a video here.

I would never not have a windscreen. Keeps the wind, rain and bugs away from you. Great investment. Hope you enjoy your bike. We loved ours.
Oh by the way i was wondering if you did get a center stand for it .
I did not. No center stand. I now ride a VStrom and I do have one on that bike. Definitely a nice addition!
Heh, that's the same seat cover I use on my Burgman during the winter! Definitely looks bigger than a 250...
Yeah definitely helps on longer rides but I'm gonna look at something a little thicker soon. But for now it helps. And thanks, she does look and feel bigger then a 250. Which was one of the reasons I chose this bike versus other 250 bikes.

Nice I'm probably gonna pick one up in June. Hopefully use it for my first long ride.
Links to the crash bars and side/top cases?
From a previous comment it said you no longer have it. Did you encounter any issues with the bike?
We had the starter fail at one point. But easy fix. We had the bike for 3 years. Both my wife and I learned to ride on that bike. Was a great bike.
Other then that, solid reliable bike? Also thanks for your reply :)
we had no issues. only thing was that there aren't a lot of dealers. so getting parts can take some time if you need them.
nice Bike! i'm about to get one for myself in the next days. Where did you get that luggage Rack?
+NCC I no longer have this bike. Sorry can't remember where I got the rack from.
En donde compraste la barra protectora del motor
I have one 2010, and up to 154km with iridium sparks, great power in 250cc, where you buy the rear wallet and base? thanks
+cristian aldana Callejas My max speed is about 115-125km/h version 2000 with carburator.I need more power. Can iridium sparks help me? :)
Yes totally
156kmh mine with ngk ix iridium spark plugs
+cristian aldana Callejas okey...very thanks
hello what's the name of the song pls ! thanks
Cool mods, but I feel like all that extra weight and the loss of aerodynamics must incur a major performance penalty.
