Awesome video of a father showing his son how to invent things, and its obvious the young man is no stranger to work. I like to floor idea too, the puzzle floor in the hub can be a hassle otherwise. Good jobs guys!

I bit the bullet and bought one of those 1.5" thick swim matts. I cut 10" holes in it. I get out, lay it out, punch my holes, then my house, plus the snow skirt all go on top of it as 1piece. It is closed cell foam, does not absorb water, and it is one hell of an insulating barrier. When i wake up in the mornings i usually fish in my socks until i have to go out to take a leak.

I was thinking exactly the same but it's too big for my vehicle. But how did it work out for you? Did any water build up and seep up through the holes?

The whole idea with "interlocking" tiles is that you don't need the fabric to keep them together...the whole floor can be done with 32 tiles...I would also recommend using moving blankets underneath for extra insulation...the whole system works great

I would think the blankets would freeze to the ice this makes for really fast set up

Great idea! Give us a report at the end of the season as to how the 3M held up please.

Just seeing this video. Great idea. How are the hinges doing one year later?

Pretty good if I was doing it again I would use the plastic landscape fabric
And the 3m 90 glue think it would be stronger

Does the overspray stay tacky ormake a mess on the walking surfaces, or did you clean that off with something?

How did this end up holding up through a season? Great idea! Setting them up individually is a pain in the ass!

That’s a handy tip. And DON’T get the cheap version of these tiles. I did, and the black tiles shed a black powdery pigment onto everything it touches, even briefly….hands, clothing, even my dog when I’d dried off on the tiles after a bath and came back in covered in the residue. And it’s very hard or impossible to get out.

One other question... I noticed what I think is your heater set up. Is that one of those small diesel powered heaters? How does it work? We have the clam X-800, which i think is the same shelter you are in.

Lot of work for little heat plus. Next time get interlocking foam pieces. Easy set up n no fumes in the house. Way cheaper

Sorry, I may have to copy your idea. it's brilliant
How does this pack up on your sled when you pull things out? Would you change anything from your original plan when you first thought of this idea.
