All of the drumming in Big Star is sensational. It's phenomenal playing. It's recorded phenomenally. It just sounds so good.
LOVE your drumming Jody.... !!!
Y'know? Thank GOD for Jody Stephens and Merry Christmas y'all!! - Timothy
Aahhhhhh! Finally. That line has puzzled me the last 30 years. I had so many discussions about it. Also, it's the line that The Bangles left out in their version, probably for the same reason: no one had an idea what it meant.
Jody... great drummer!
I’ve always wondered about that Butch line.
Yes!!! Thanks for sharing this Jody! Somehow just seein this for the first time, despite being a fan for years, seeing Nothing Can Hurt Me a bunch in theaters…and even sharing mutual friends Bird Streets! Dig the story and dig the tune! Many thanks!
Awesome, thanks for explaining!
I love pop trivia tidbits like this!
Fantastic!
why didn't Jody ask Alex about the lyric back when they recorded the song?
I want to know why he spelled "girls" with a "u".
perhaps because Alex loved to mess with people, why not rebelliously misspell a word? idk
@@matthewdavis6838 Yeah that's basically it. Just Alex having fun.
More of a phonetic spelling. Same with "What's Going Ahn." Slade had done this as well.
@@jodystephens2995 C’mon Feel the Gurls...
Cuz it's cool
🙌✊🫡
