David Phelps is THE VOICE. @1:01 he pinpoints this resonant sound that just ripped my heart in half. What other human being can do that with just their voice? The fact that he can truly speak pain, love, hope, faith, mercy, grace, kindness, fear and sorrow through just using his voice is so beyond impressive that it's entirely inhuman, and not something you can teach. Holy inspired and anointed by God himself, just terrifyingly good.
*Jeff Leyton* Followed by Colm Wilkson, Alfie Boa, John Owen Jones... Love David...Awesome/Phenomenal voice, but he's a Christian Singer doing Theater/Stage. These singers bring the EMOTION of the song to life in such a way that David just doesn't deliver on! On the flip side, look up *Bring Him Home Jan Werner* ~ Norwegian singer whose light was extinguished way too early! Vocally...dude's got a VOCAL RANGE that's on par w/David's IMHO!....
@@itzanopinion David sang 'Bring Him Home' with John Owen Jones. On the climax, David got crushed by JOJ. I just checked out Jeff Leyton, not bad. He sang the last line "Bring him home" all in one breath. I still prefer Alfie over everyone. To each his own...
Thank you, David, for a much needed heart massage this morning. Intercession for Americans left behind in Afghanistan and the Afghanistan Church. FAITHFULNESS
when David sings any song, the question is never who does it better. The question is who does it 2nd best. Nobody can sing with him. He is the best I have ever heard.
"when David sings I believe every word" is a good description. I am skeptical of most people and ideas until proven with solid logic and evidence, but when David sings I believe every word. -- Kenneth, from Texas
David has the unique and talented tenor voice second to none! He is just so passionate about the songs being his rendition - making them his own! Absolutely amazing!
God on high Hear my prayer In my need You have always been there He is young He's afraid Let him rest Heaven blessed. Bring him home Bring him home Bring him home. Bring him peace Bring him joy He is young He is only a boy You can take You can give Let him be Let him live If I die, let me die Let him live Bring him home Bring him home Bring him home.
After listening to every version of this song by so many Amazing singers and I might add listened to them several times this to me is the Absolute Best Rendition
I just listened to several singers sing this very song. NONE hold a candle to David. ZERO candles held lol I'm so glad David has such a broad musical horizon and we get treated to his skill and expertise. #SpoiledChildOfTheKing
C Johnson I agree that David is not on par with an opera singer. However he has been in 2 musicals and did very well. He has a natural feel for the stage and acting. Please look at “He’s Alive” tent revival to see David is excellent at inhabiting a character, in my humble opinion, I’ve never seen a singer so emotive or in tune with what he is singing, this does translate to the stage. Whether he would do well on Broadway I don’t know. He has an amazing ability to adapt to whatever is called for and to improvise. Occasionally it is less than ideal. But I appreciate an artist who is willing to takes risks.
@@godislove8038 He actually was classically trained for opera and he has performances of him performing opera and many think his vocal quality is equal to Pavarotti, so yes he can hold his own when it comes to opera.

David Phelps did. He is fully trained for vocals, piano, arrangments, compositing and words. And former member of mythical group "Gaither Vocal Band". He is "the one in a century" kind of person.
I do love David and have followed him since he first began singing on the Gaither videos, but I recently saw Austin Brown ,from Home Free a cappella group and it absolutely excellent! Give Austin a listen please.
@@conniejones9280 I understand. However, why do you prefer David Phelp's version of this song when compared to Austin Brown's version? Could you please explain why by giving reasons for your answer?
@@craigbrown6437 I am a major fan of both David and Austin,in my opinion they are the best of the best! Honestly,my suggestion to listen to Austin wasn’t meant to be a contest! Austin has his own amazing voice as does David’s! It’s like saying you love one of your children better than the other! So they both rate an A+ ,they are both winners!
Someone said listen to Josh Gorman , I did , he’s ok nice voice , But not even close to David’s singing .David is so far above that others. Who try to reach him fail , because there’s not a ladder high enough to reach him,

What is the story for this song? It's kind of sad.
It’s a song from the musical Les Miserables. A great story and great music. Highly recommending.
Its about a dad who is saying he wants god to take him instead of his daughters love. Truly wonderful story and music
