Good video Doug. Mike Morgan has been extolling the virtues of this machine for several years. This is the machine I would buy for excellent production capability. Anyway, stay safe healthy and dry which is not easy these days. Bill H from Cranberry Township PS, it was nice of your tall lanky neighbor friend Adam to come over and help you.
Maneuverability is definitely something to consider. We did our best to compare the weights in our splitter wars series and the Wolfe Ridge was the lightest of the commercial machines we ran. The Eastonmade 12-22 can be moved by hand as well but takes a little more. Our All Wood needs a vehicle, tractor, or Trax trailer dolly.
It is good to see it finally drying up in the area. It was extremely wet just before I left for Oklahoma last week. When I returned, it looked like the forecasted rain didn't happen. Yesterday was the first time this season I didn't get stuck mowing the yard. 😂
It'd be cool if the sorting table lid underneath and you could run the splitter with it fully retracted right through to maybe the full depth of the red discharge tray.
I know the companies that have you review their equipment are very lucky, Doug. Your reviews are so thorough and well thought out! My husband and I love watching your videos!
We just had 20 trees taken down to do a garage at our house. Wish I had that beast, instead of the little splitter we have. Impressive splitter for sure!
Great point Doug, not every one of us needs a huge $120k processor. Compact design, maneuverability, power, speed are also top reasons for people to choose what fits them. I’m looking into a super split made not far from me in Massachusetts. Checks all the boxes like you mentioned
I have a 37 Ton Brave splitter and I cannot move it around at all. I had to buy a trailer dolly. Something people do not think about before a splitter purchase.
Good to see a vid from you. I do appreciate your knowledge and insight. Like you stated, the longer catch tables are a must. I agree and I go one step farther, I made my table hinge. I can’t understand why mfgs over here don’t do this. Another is the 4way. I agree. The 4 is the Swiss army wedge. I went a little different design on mine, I welded cross wedges at bottom of center wedge so when I drop wedge I can transition from 4 to 2 way with a simple hydraulic lever actuation not wedge removal.
Good morning Doug great video !! All the Wolfe Ridge splitters are very well balanced. I actually can tow the SHO with the 4 wheeler and move it around the shop by hand. But it is much heavier.
Good morning Doug, I agree with everything you have noted. It is a very versatile pice of equipment with a lot of Productive Smile Factor built in. I also like the ability to easily move it out of the way and do an appropriate clean up around and under, which is a Safety and Organization Bonus that might not be as easily available on other pieces of Splitting Equipment. Well done. 😊👍👍👍
Just want to let you know that the trailer hitch can go to the back side of the splitter if you want to trailer it with your sorting table attached. I just purchased the 28 pro. Really nice splitters. Thanks for all your great videos.
What I don't like about all these units is the log lift is on the opposite side from where you're splitting, so you're constantly having to run around the unit to load logs. I can't see how that could really be improved, but as you say, "There's got to be a better way."
Please tell me you didn't call Adam up & tell him what to wear - lol. Same color shirt, pants, glasses, hearing protection. Wait, where's your hat, Doug?
Power to rate ratio…😮. The tough may have to be heavier to manage the weight if it’s 16” longer? Younger? Yes. More capable? Jury’s out. But he is 6’5”.

Hopefully Wolferidge will continue to supply your field experience with their products. Great job!
I hope so too!
😎
I like how Adams face is not visible to show how tall he is.
Glad to see the dynamic duo back together again! Glad to see another video..

Adam struck quite a pose on the lever while you were wrangling the hickory round!🤣
😂😂😂

It’s been horrible here also
Nice splitter. Really enjoyed running the 17VS and meeting Chris and Bob at the Hoosier Firewood Hysteria.
Happily watching re runs of Doug’s videos! Looking forward to the next

I appreciate that!

The splitter is very nice, but a new garage is wayyyyy better to have!! Good luck with it!
You know I sat watch all of these splitting channel the WOLFRIGE spliter is the best of all of them

Hi Doug. Good video, with lots of practical info.
It was great that you and Adam co-ordinated the T-shirt colour pallet. Real Team Effort!!!

D & A, were on their mission and they were on spot ✅👍😮😊❤

You’ve got that wood yard looking nice Doug. Great video!
Thanks Kyle!!

Yep, I have tried that. Pretty cool set up!
❤❤❤
Thank you!
Nice work Doug!
12:16 Is that the 6' 5" lanky planky from the neighborhood in the background?!
What does hometown acres say Adam about wolf ridge and Easton made
Nice splitter😊
Well, well 6’5”” showed up, that machine needs to be on stilts for him
But Doug - with you skills and resources could not Make a receiver hitch extension bar 13:48 yourself ?
Great video .
I sure could, but this is not my splitter. It is going away soon.
@@OneEyeCustoms I know that I was thinking for you own splitter .

I 💯 agree with you on that!
Nice splitter. Adam, where are your gloves?
Tow it from the other end
Instead of the flat table make the entire table a sorting table
Please tell me you didn't call Adam up & tell him what to wear - lol. Same color shirt, pants, glasses, hearing protection. Wait, where's your hat, Doug?
4-way and re-split...
