      And he was thrown into a Jungle and raised by mountain bandits. He is naive, but he was never taught some skills that people often use to measure IQ. The concept of IQ isn't very trustworthy. If you would measure Luffys IQ Just by His Fights he would be a Genius. He found out Crocodiles weakness in an instand. He develops new attacks in the middle of His fights. Yes some seem to be not that smart like the Just passive move He used against Enel. But he was able to dodge Enels attacks with it and He came Up with it in a few seconds.

      I also agree that luffy isn’t inherently dumb he simply embodies “freedom” in every way and that means unless it’s important it doesn’t require much thought, Most of what is on his mind at any given point is exactly what he’s doing and he goes with his instincts and his first thought until that is proven incorrect through pain which like goku is how he learns at such a quick pace and makes his battle IQ in the realms of gods they pay attention to what they need to and the rest is irrelevant they respect those who deserve respect and pay attention to what actually matters other then that they really don’t burden themselves with trivial nonsense and in those two verses it makes a lot of sense with how much is constantly happening and the fact most of what is happening is simply unable to be comprehended by just everyone in the verse they don’t have the internet or a knowledge base like us most of their verses information they simply don’t have especially where devil fruits are concerned some things can be inferred or assumed but there’s very little information on literally anything in the OP universe they don’t go to school they don’t have libraries you can trawl for information people are expecting so much of a verse that’s basically the 1800s with DF you can’t hold any of them to the standard deviation of intellect we hold ourselves to with the information we’re fed through childhood and the easily accessibility of it all luffy learns through experience not through information and it may not seem like it but that is also intelligence BIQ is directly related to intellect it’s simply a different way of learning I don’t believe he’s truly an idiot sometimes childish and most of the time mindless free of constraints like a cloud for me I feel like if you were to tech luffy things in a specific way that actually interested him and kept him in the now he would learn and understand it in such a way that you wouldn’t be teaching him for long he’d be explaining things to you after practicing what you’ve taught him as he’s been shown to do all through out the anime/manga someone teaches him something in the way he can understand it and all of a sudden he exceeds what that person expected from him 10 fold like when Rayleigh taught him mastery of haki luffy excels specifically at things he can “feel” his cloud like nature makes him entirely unpredictable and his gear 5 awakening shows that he quite literally has god tier perception of what he can and can’t achieve with what is around him and the information he has he just doesn’t retain information unless he actually needs to and it’s a good characteristic to have when you’re writing the story because it leads to so many unexpected events and plot twists
      Excuse my spiel I’ve also been waiting for g5 and to converse about luffy and his growth for a very long time.

      How to tell me your a libertarian type without telling me your a libertarian type.
      "Meant as bigotry" is a dumb statement and not the point. For example: if the video is likely to be seen by a lot of kids, and it normalises the idea to start saying "on the spectrum" as an insult.
      Cue the point they learn what the spectrum is, and their first impression of autism is derogatory and associated with low intelligence.
      Meanwhile, all of this has occurred without intent of any bigotry by the video author. The argument isn't that he's ableist, but that the script of the video is negligent and irresponsible.

    • @alextilson9741
      @alextilson9741 11 місяців тому +25

      Legit, all people did was say "autism doesn't make you stupid" to avoid future stigma. What kinda snowflake have you got to be to immediately jump to "its not bigotry" as if we're trying to cancel the guy.
      Why do you think he didn't just say "luffy is mentally r**ed" in the first place? Surely by this logic it's not a bad thing? I mean its a diagnosable medical condition after all, and it is closer to the point of the statement.
      The reason is that it's incredibly insensitive to the people who actually have to lives with these conditions and the stigma society attaches to them.
      Autism is not defined by differences in intelligence, but by neurological symptoms.

His sniper skills are invaluable at sea, but Luffy's happy enough just bouncing cannonballs back and boarding, so its just a bonus to him. Luffy isn't dumb, and being dumb doesn't mean you're on the spectrum. Some of the smartest people I've ever met are autistic. Also Luffy is incredibly smart in some ways, his emotional intelligence is crazy high, he's a fighting genius, and he always knows what the most important thing to do is anytime things get dire.
    A better question is why Zoro or Sanji didn't teach the other members of the crew haki, or why Robin didn't learn it from the revolutionaries. Hopefully now that Jimbei is on the crew, he'll teach some of the other members. Usopp, Chopper, and Robin could make very good use of armament haki, and Nami absolutely needs observation haki. He isn't just forming some unified workforce that answers and relies upon him for instruction but a clan of completely free individuals who only stick around because they chose to. Inserting the question of Haki training unsolicited, aside from not being something Luffy would even come to consider on his own anyway, would sort of interfere with that dynamic unless one of the other Straw Hats came to him first or he felt they could use the knowledge to aid in a visibly obvious personal struggle.

    • @Kenny-o6i
      @Kenny-o6i Рік тому +1

      Yes, a pirate king's crew shouldn't need to have their hands held. Also the crew has other aspects that are more important than just raw fighting, because it makes up for what Luffy lacks. Nami's raw intelligence and navigation skills, Franky's tech, Chopper's medical skills, Usopp's utility skills and versatility... They each have their own roles, and they're all exceptional at these roles. That is what makes the crew so affective.
      - Luffy is the front runner and leader of the crew, so he takes on whoever is the number one threat.
      Then Zoro and Sanji cover Luffy's sides, taking out whoever else will be a threat.
      - Zoro is the 2nd strongest in the crew, behind Luffy. He acts as sort of the protector from the shadows. He is the 1st mate and he will put Luffy in line when he goes astray (for serious matters, not Nami matters).
      - Sanji is the cook, just like Luffy said, he cannot reach his goal without him. Sanji is the 3rd strongest in the crew, often acting as a rival to Zoro. These are the wingmen to the pirate king.
      - And now they have Jinbe who also covers Luffy's back in any fight, and can save him if he happens to fall in the water.
      So Luffy got his main fighting force, but the rest of the crew covers aspects they don't have:
      - Nami is the organizer of the crew; she manages the money, navigates the ship, and punishes crewmembers who cross the line. You could say she is the quartermaster of the crew.
      - Usopp is the jack of all trades. He is a sniper, gunner, weaponsmith, inventor, engineer, artist, hairdresser, gardener, backup shipwright, and lookout. And his sniping skills are on point.
      Chopper is the doctor, which is needed in any crew.
      I could keep going, but I think you get the idea.

      @bc7781 Рік тому +6

      @@PlanetZoidstar The problem is that it would take far too long for normal people to achieve basic mastery of Haki. Otherwise everyone would have it. We're use to Luffy just picking up and mastering every form of Haki he encounters, as well as the other "monster" characters like Sanji and Zoro. But they have natural ability and extensive martial discipline. Haki is essentially a twist on "Qi or Ki", and it means you have to dedicate training your body, mind, and soul for it, so it only really awakens and grows with martial arts/battle experience. The other strawhats are not monsters, and have their own roles on the crew. Usopp is arguably a lucky one because his natural talent for it bloomed through his experience. To be fair, I feel like Brook should also have it at least, as he is trained as a swordsmen.

    You can’t teach something that you feel. That’s kind of a universal understanding. Those who are good at something naturally make horrible teachers because for them it’s less intuition or more instinct. That’s why Gojo is constantly called a horrible teacher in JJK. In the end all he did was motivate his students to find that feeling for themselves.
