This kinda deepens the line "Then you really are better than her." showing Rose used it to shatter Pink Diamond, but unlike Rose, Steven believes there is always a peaceful way. I would like to point out that while it is true that only a diamond can cut another diamond, it can be smashed if hit hard enough with a hammer. It's toughness is around 2.0 MPa which is fair for a gemstone, but not extraordinary.
Can you imagine if Rose didn't even mean to shatter Pink Diamond? She blocked the attack and it bounced back, possibly flying erratically, and hitting Pink Diamond right on her gem and killing her.
I'm pretty sure that the fire element from the robot thing in Lion 2 was meant to be Pink Diamond since amethyst ruby and jasper are under her court and they use fire abilities

Rubies don't belong to a specific court. Jasper is apart of Pinks and Amethysts may have been used by more than one court. For Ruby in "The Answer" all the rubies had the Yellow insignia but I'd like to think Rubies can be of any court if needed.

Maybe that's why Rose poofed Bismuth. She used the breaking point to shatter Pink Diamond, but only wanted to shatter her, and not start using it to shatter all enemies of the rebellion. Bismuth was the only other one to know about the breaking point, and if Rose used it once, with everyone knowing it, that wouldn't be the end, people would want it used again. So Rose told Bismuth no, we're not using the Breaking Point, and poofed and bubbled her, and then used it to shatter Pink Diamond in secrecy. That's just some food for thought.

You don't have to be able to cut a diamond in order to break it. Diamonds may be hard to cut and scratch because their Mohs Hardness is 10, but their Toughness makes their crystal structure easier to break *under pressure*. (I recommend checking out Game Theory's video on Minecraft's Diamond Armor). Corundum (Rubies and Sapphires), Topaz, and Quartz all have a lower Mohs Hardness scale of 9, 8, and 7 respectively; but their Toughness is a lot higher. I'm not sure about those first 3 gems, but Quartz crystals have a higher Toughness, meaning under the same levels of pressure, a Diamond would break first.
YEAAA maybe the diamonds are like sans! (im not fanboying here im using this as a good comparison) the reason i said the diamonds are like sans is because sans is incredibly powerful, but incredibly weak! Maybe that is how the diamonds are! but they dont want anyone else knowing that! most other gems are WAY more durable than the diamonds, but the diamonds have more power, BUT if they dodge or DEFLECT the shots from the diamonds and get one or two good hits in, almost anyone could poof the diamonds and shatter them! but the diamonds took control before the other gems realized anything, and now they are stuck serving the diamonds, not knowing they had the power all along.
SANESS that's my idea too. I know everyone creates gemsonas, but in my gemsona's universe, Obsidians are the custodians of Homeworld, barely a step above Pearls. They got tired of being barely better than living furniture (sorry Pearls), so they fused into one Mega Fusion. The Diamonds shattered the Obsidian Fusion in a single blow, but their absence left Homeworld in a resource deficit that required colonization to fix

yellow court tool: Gem destabilizer. causes an electrical surge, overloading a gems physical form. blue courts tool: freeze beam. usually part of a gems design as an add on. creates a bubble freezing anything it catches. white courts tool: ??? might have something to do with puttimg a gem in great pain since white might have fire abilities

When a gem shapeshifts, they can't alter their gem placement or color, so if she did shapeshift to Rose Quartz, she'd be a white Rose Quartz with a fake gem on her stomach as her real gem is quite literally visible on her forehead and can be seen easily. I know you said "advanced" shapeshifting but I don't believe it. Everyone on the show so far is on board with Rose shattering Pink Diamond. Maybe Eyeball could be stupid enough to fall for shapeshifting like with Amethyst but there are other witnesses, and I doubt they'd be stupid to fall it. The Crystal Gems don't deny it, Yellow and Blue Diamond don't deny it, so I'm pretty sure Rose did it. I'll be surprised if that isn't the case though. The show been building up Rose's imperfections until we get to her biggest crime which is shattering Pink. It just makes sense if it stays like that.
I always wonder about something. The episode was called, "beach city horror club." There Steven found a gem who projected a memory of Lars and Ronaldo from when they were kids. it looked like a diamond.
This is something that poeple look over but in the song, what's the use of feeling blue, yellow diamond sings, "drowning in all this regret, wouldn't you rather forget". Well what does that mean? What regret would blue diamond even have, when rose quartz shattered pink? As we know, blue diamond was stated to be near when the shattering happened, but we don't know why. This whole thought could just be crushed by blue diamond feeling responsible becuase she couldn't do anything to stop it. But, like you said, only a diamond and cut another diamond. What if blue was trying to protect pink diamond but ended up hurting her (weakening her) then rose could have finished pink off at her weakest point. That could be the regret that blue diamond feels. Because, blue diamond was a ruthless gem, she wouldn't hesitate to shatter you if you don't do what's wanted, so why is she the most vulnerable and the diamond that is grieving the most? Maybe becuase she was responsible for the shattering. This is just a thought that no one reallly addresses. I hope it makes sense
Lil' Lappy but you don't need a to cut a diamond to shatter it. Their toughness level is high compared to other gemstones, but not generally. You could shatter a diamond with a simple hammer if you wanted to.
Good that you brought up Bismuth's statement about Rose's sword not actually able to shatter gems; that detail was so deliberate in Bismuth's episode that I dare say, aside from Steven/Rose character development, the whole episode was really meant to drop that contradiction to Eyeball's testimony. Rose inadvertently turning Pink Diamond's power against herself sounds like something more in line with her character while still an act the diamonds would blame her for and Rose would feel guilty about. We REALLY need to hear the diamond's side of the story.

So for all we know her sword could be made specifically to NOT shatter gems. Also if bismuth potentially made this sword during or in the early stages of the gem war, then this was after rose had already supposedly shattered pink diamond, as we can infer this shattering is what began the rebellion to begin with. Not knocking your theory tho, pearl having something to do with the situation certainly seems quite plausible based on her reactions to things revolving around the incident

2:25 while only a diamond can scratch a diamond, that's only relevant to their perfect 10 in hardness. They're actually "meh" when it comes to physical toughness. You can break one by hitting it with a hammer or throwing it to the ground. That's how they get the stereotypical "brilliant" cut.
Whilst only diamonds can cut diamonds, diamonds can break/shatter if thrown at a hard surface. Moh's hardness scale only tracks how easily a gemstone is scratched (which is like a small cut)
That makes a lot of sense. And I wouldn't be surprised if the attack was deflect entirely in self defense, and that Rose didn't even mean for it to his pink back at her gem.
the elemental theory of diamonds and their servants make sense... Sapphire for example (servant of b.d) turns her surroundings icy as shown in Hit the Diamond, keystone motel and that will be all.
This is a pretty interesting theory. I didn't think of it this way. I was under my own personal assumption that Rose didn't really shatter Pink at all, but that she took the blame for it. But this could probably elude to an accident of some kind.
I have a theory of how corruption works. It is that corruption is a gem being infused with the power of a diamond. So when a normal gem is infused because there gems are much smaller and their hardness is much lower they can't handle the power so they turn into their corrupted forms. It makes sense for a few reasons. One it explains why a corrupted gem is so powerful (I mean it takes the entirety of the crystal gems to take only ONE down) they may be animal-like but they do have the power of a diamond. It could also help tell witch diamond the gem was associated with depending on witch power they have. Two it explains why its so hard to cure. ONE gem even if Steven might be a little bit more powerful then rose can't erase the astronomical power that the diamonds most likely have. Finally it explains why it can be spread by fusion. Fusion adds up the powers of the two or more gems and more so jasper might be even harder to cure because the powers of that blue quartz and the diamonds were added up. (it also explains why jaspers corruption was blue and had spikes).
The court powers being devided based on element makes sense! Yellow- lightning/technology(mind) Blue- Ice/ Spirituality(soul) Pink- Fire/ Brute Force (body)

You don't have to be able to cut a diamond in order to break it. Diamonds may be hard to cut and scratch because their Mohs Hardness is 10, but their Toughness makes their crystal structure easier to break *under pressure*. (I recommend checking out Game Theory's video on Minecraft's Diamond Armor). Corundum (Rubies and Sapphires), Topaz, and Quartz all have a lower Mohs Hardness scale of 9, 8, and 7 respectively; but their Toughness is a lot higher. I'm not sure about those first 3 gems, but Quartz crystals have a higher Toughness, meaning under the same levels of pressure, a Diamond would break first.

(im not fanboying here im using this as a good comparison) the reason i said the diamonds are like sans is because sans is incredibly powerful, but incredibly weak! Maybe that is how the diamonds are! but they dont want anyone else knowing that! most other gems are WAY more durable than the diamonds, but the diamonds have more power, BUT if they dodge or DEFLECT the shots from the diamonds and get one or two good hits in, almost anyone could poof the diamonds and shatter them! but the diamonds took control before the other gems realized anything, and now they are stuck serving the diamonds, not knowing they had the power all along.
SANESS that's my idea too. I know everyone creates gemsonas, but in my gemsona's universe, Obsidians are the custodians of Homeworld, barely a step above Pearls. They got tired of being barely better than living furniture (sorry Pearls), so they fused into one Mega Fusion. The Diamonds shattered the Obsidian Fusion in a single blow, but their absence left Homeworld in a resource deficit that required colonization to fix

When a gem shapeshifts, they can't alter their gem placement or color, so if she did shapeshift to Rose Quartz, she'd be a white Rose Quartz with a fake gem on her stomach as her real gem is quite literally visible on her forehead and can be seen easily.

This is something that poeple look over but in the song, what's the use of feeling blue, yellow diamond sings, "drowning in all this regret, wouldn't you rather forget". Well what does that mean? What regret would blue diamond even have, when rose quartz shattered pink? As we know, blue diamond was stated to be near when the shattering happened, but we don't know why. This whole thought could just be crushed by blue diamond feeling responsible becuase she couldn't do anything to stop it. But, like you said, only a diamond and cut another diamond. What if blue was trying to protect pink diamond but ended up hurting her (weakening her) then rose could have finished pink off at her weakest point. That could be the regret that blue diamond feels. Because, blue diamond was a ruthless gem, she wouldn't hesitate to shatter you if you don't do what's wanted, so why is she the most vulnerable and the diamond that is grieving the most? Maybe becuase she was responsible for the shattering.
This is just a thought that no one reallly addresses. I hope it makes sense
Lil' Lappy but you don't need a to cut a diamond to shatter it. Their toughness level is high compared to other gemstones, but not generally. You could shatter a diamond with a simple hammer if you wanted to.

Good that you brought up Bismuth's statement about Rose's sword not actually able to shatter gems; that detail was so deliberate in Bismuth's episode that I dare say, aside from Steven/Rose character development, the whole episode was really meant to drop that contradiction to Eyeball's testimony. Rose inadvertently turning Pink Diamond's power against herself sounds like something more in line with her character while still an act the diamonds would blame her for and Rose would feel guilty about. We REALLY need to hear the diamond's side of the story.
But we have never really seen rose with a sword or use one who have we seen you one pearl.I think pearl took rose's form and her sword and shattered pink diamond.Pearl is an exceptional swordsman.Rose could also be a good swordsman but until I see Rose use a sword I will think pearl did it.I hope we see what Rose did explained blue diamond because she cared for the most and she seemed the most emotional about it.😊😊👍🏾👎🏾
Queen T#1 reasonable theory, except in the bismuth episode we hear bismuth say after revealing to steven that she made roses sword something along the lines of "it destroys the body but never the gem" or something like that. So for all we know her sword could be made specifically to NOT shatter gems. Also if bismuth potentially made this sword during or in the early stages of the gem war, then this was after rose had already supposedly shattered pink diamond, as we can infer this shattering is what began the rebellion to begin with. Not knocking your theory tho, pearl having something to do with the situation certainly seems quite plausible based on her reactions to things revolving around the incident

Whilst only diamonds can cut diamonds, diamonds can break/shatter if thrown at a hard surface. Moh's hardness scale only tracks how easily a gemstone is scratched (which is like a small cut)

This is a pretty interesting theory. I didn't think of it this way. I was under my own personal assumption that Rose didn't really shatter Pink at all, but that she took the blame for it. But this could probably elude to an accident of some kind.

I have a theory of how corruption works. It is that corruption is a gem being infused with the power of a diamond. So when a normal gem is infused because there gems are much smaller and their hardness is much lower they can't handle the power so they turn into their corrupted forms. It makes sense for a few reasons. One it explains why a corrupted gem is so powerful (I mean it takes the entirety of the crystal gems to take only ONE down) they may be animal-like but they do have the power of a diamond. It could also help tell witch diamond the gem was associated with depending on witch power they have. Two it explains why its so hard to cure. ONE gem even if Steven might be a little bit more powerful then rose can't erase the astronomical power that the diamonds most likely have. Finally it explains why it can be spread by fusion. Fusion adds up the powers of the two or more gems and more so jasper might be even harder to cure because the powers of that blue quartz and the diamonds were added up. (it also explains why jaspers corruption was blue and had spikes).
I bet she just *might* be bubbled, I think this because the room with all the bubbles isn't really *ever* explored except during those rare moments.
